“Bahía Bianca”
Nice resort clean and tidy the apartments were well equipped however but cramped as had large glass dining table and 4 chairs which were very much not needed also the sofa was cracked pleather which wasn’t nice to sit on at all and had a cover on which just kept slipping off. The shower was blocked and smelt awful and overflowing We had terrible weather and because if this the electrics kept blowing of an evening constantly and we had to use our phone lights to be able to switch back on but continued all night every night. Also the lift was out of use when raining which was every day and night and struggled terribly with stairs as over 100 plus steps each time. I woukd suggest if you have trouble either stairs don’t stay here as if lift us out if use the stairs are so steep even fit people will struggle.
“Stairs and more stairs”
Travelled with Tui and were allocated apartment 515. I had emailed reception asking for a low floor apartment as we had a baby with us. However with this apartment you had to walk up and down approx 200 steps when the lift wasn't working which was a lot of our stay. Apartment only has 1 cleaning day per weeks stay therefore the apartment isn't the cleanest. We were bed and breakfast and it's like faulty towers. The choices are good but the bacon is something else. If they run out of food it takes an eternity to replace. This is purely down to the fact there aren't enough staff.
“Great location but disappointing experience”
Apartments are lovely. Staff are friendly. Location is great. We were here for 8 nights and room only cleaned once during our entire stay which we were informed is normal for stays of 8 nights or more. This is very poor. Rooms should be cleaned every 3 days at least with towels changes etc. The lift was out of order when we arrived resulting with having to carry our luggage up many many steps. We were told lift outage was temporary however lift was out of action for most of our stay. This is unacceptable as there are hundreds of steep steps. Definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues or families with small children and buggies. The widely advertised App is not worth the technology as other than an automated response promising a prompt response, none is actually forthcoming. Check out is 10am which is very early. Our request for a late check out despite being advertised as an option was refused. Unlikely to return
“Nightmare”
Stay away not worth the money. Stairs stairs and more stairs and more and more. and the lift does not work.
“Returned for my birthday”
It’s been a few years since I visited the hotel. I knew the layout so I asked for a lower floor room and was allocated room 206. PERFECT ! The resort is brilliant. It still had those great views over the Atlantic. The room had everything we needed. Bahia Blanca is situated at the bottom a steep hill. But has easy walkable access to two beautiful cliff walks. Left to Puerto Rico and right to Amodores. Both Puerto Rico and Amodores have great restaurants and bars. Just walk down then grab a taxi back…..sorted!
“NOT baby friendly. Expensive for pure basic. Understaffed. Unhelpful.”
We stayed here as a couple with a 9 month old baby. We researched this property, and emailed prior to booking, asking about being baby friendly with amenities such as a travel cot, highchair and pushchair access. We were reassured this was all not a problem. When we arrived, the first issue we encountered was the helpful reception staff. We got the public bus from the airport (quite a large coach-like bus with an underneath) and our pushchair and bags were last left on there at our stop. However our baby bag was missing, and another in its place (someone had obviously taken wrong bag). We were given a number by the bus driver and we asked kindly the man on reception if he could help us and call the company due to the language and he simply just refused saying 'Those lines never work. They will never answer or help. Do it online'. So we then had to wait a few hours for apartment to be ready so we sat at the bar and called them. They literally answered straight away (luckily and unknown to us, spoke great english) and explained they had our bag someone had returned and where and when to collect it. It was just the pure dismissal and no intention of even trying to help us from reception that got us. We finally got our room and discovered that, although you can get the lift to the first floor, after that the apartment was up 2 flights of stairs. One being a tiny, thin staircase. Impossible for a pushchair. So we had to leave this down the way for our stay and carry baby (and bags etc) every time. We were given a cot, but no highchair. They said they did not have any for the rooms (and for self catering where we planned to eat in a few times, and were told by email before this was okay, found this strange). We were told we could collect from the shop a little kit of a tiny washing up liquid bottle and 1 washing tablet and 1 dishwasher tablet. Once this had run out I went to the shop to explain we needed more washing up liquid to wash our baby's bottles. She was blunt in stating we only get that little amount. So I said I'd then like to buy some, which they do not sell and directed me to reception. This lady said I needed to go to the nearest shop to find any which was a 25 minute walk away because she could not give me any more. I completely understand rules, but saying I couldn't just have a tiny squirt to let me wash his bottles then (6pm before dinner and bedtime) for until I could get some in town tomorrow was a bit insensitive. The sun beds had people reserving them with pool towels at silly AM with no enforcement. We 1 day took advantage of the pool's 'Happy Hour' which was buy 1 get 1 free on certain drinks. We chose the glasses of sangria. And then were tiny little glasses, with no fruit and basic. The next day we saw some girls with glasses of sangria (outside of happy hour) and they were Huge glasses with fruit and fancy. I get it was happy hour, but don't advertise it as just buy 1 get 1 free or normal drinks if it's a drink half the size of the usual. The included breakfast was basic. With only ever 1 or 2 waiting staff on that you could never find. The tables cramped together and always impossible to find condiments. They offer a service or getting poached eggs made if you ask the waiter, but you could never find one. And then tables were never cleared. This attracted lots of pigeons and it was horrible sat eating breakfast with a baby next to 10 pigeons eating theirs. If somewhere was basic but I'd paid basic price, I would be NO means complain or be bothered. But we found places with a basic price but chose this as a little 'upgrade' to ourselves, mainly because we stayed in 'ONA' apartments in Lanzarote and LOVED them. It is clear ONA must be a franchise as there was nothing similar at all about these properties. This however, was not an upgrade. We just paid more for something the same that we could have paid half the price for. Also the location was in the middle of nowhere, up hills with no shops within a 20 minute walk. The walk along the front to Puerto Rico or the other way were nice, but not too close (especially, when hot with a baby). Of course, there were pockets of niceties, the view with the sunset was gorgeous. And the apartment itself was nice (without the stairs for pushchair). But honestly, that was it. Unfortunately, the unhelpfullness (and rudeness!) of staff, location and everything else mentioned took over everything and made it feel very UN-holiday-like. We would not recommend, ESPECIALLY with a baby.
