“Didnt quite meet expectation”

Room and bathroom was large and beds were comfortable. Hotel was clean and location was within easy stroll to a shop, bars and restaurants. The more expensive spa experience was lovely (@ 45 euros per person for 2 hours) but the cheaper experience disappointing (@13 euros per person for 1hr). Note: the cheaper has a pool hoist for those with mobility issues, whereas the more expensive has steps. Breakfast was good.

Bar only open during short restaurant opening time. Nowhere to buy a drink or food (other than full buffet experience which is more expensive Fri- Sun) and no facilities in room to make a drink. Clearer communication about this at the outset would be useful. Hotel feels dated and a bit like an old peoples' home. Unfortunately, at the time of our stay there were lots of flies about which spoiled our outside pool time and use of the various outside areas. Paid parking at 8 euros per night in secure outside parking lot at back of hotel, accessed via narrow streets.

“Is a good place to stay for 3-4 days to relax.”

The hotel has an old charm that we really appreciated, and it has lots of activities that can be done – an outside pool with warm water (free for guests), an inside pool and the spa (additional costs), a game room (where you can play cards, etc.), an outside patio, etc. Even though some parts of the hotel are in renovation, everything is pretty clean. We stayed here for the F1 weekend, and it was quite close to the circuit (30 minutes with our rental car) and they have also shuttles available.

However, one major downside was that even though we picked this place because they have parking available and we announced prior to our arrival that we would be needing a parking space, each night we came back from F1 we had to find a proper parking space in one of the 2 different lots available (we did not have an assigned space)– and on one nigh they did not have one available for us so we had to park outside the hotel. At the entrance of the parking lot, it says it is to be used only by guests but there were many cars from the hotel staff parked there and we were refused a parking space. After a full day of F1 we had no more energy to go around the town and find another parking space where we can leave our rental safe. Be aware that not all the staff from the reception knows English, so be ready to use google translate to get your point across. The room was clean, we had trouble with the air conditioning, but the staff was prompt and resolved the issue on the spot. There is no room services available but they have a restaurant with buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast could be more diverse (the only vegetable available were some tomatoes) but for a short stay of 3 days it works. In conclusion, this is a good place to stay for 3-4 days to relax or to use as accommodation for the F1 grand prix – the only downside is the fact that they are not organised at all with regards to the parking.
