“Comfortable but missing too many things.”

There were sheets in the washing and dryer when we arrived. The place had not been swept. Missing were coffee cups, frying pan, bottle opener, sink plug, drying up clothes and no washing machine pods.

The kitchen was in terrible state. The water basin was leaking and broken,the washing machine was full with towels. The cleaning staff didn't remove tham from washing machine. The owner was bit greedy,he took advance 100 euros for security but never mentioned about the existing faults in the apartment . So we were worried all day even after checking out. He returned the money late evening.

Had everything I needed: Refrigerator Comfortable couch to watch tv, refrigerator (WHICH NEEDS A DEFROST BADLY - THE SAME EXPERIENCE ON EARLIER STAY IN DIFFERENT ROOM) WIFI AND AC good Cleaning lady did a small wash load for me of a couple of items - so I made her a huge, great sandwich to say thanks View not bad Market next door

To be improved

Recommend outside rooms as inside rooms aren't great with any kind of view or ambience Elevator out of order Funky key pickup at gas station in front - but it works if you understand what's going on

Price is fair and reasonable for what's on offer here, including location of rental in a somewhat 'rough' area (in other words, don't expect a "resort" setting on the beach - you're several kilometers from those places) Here's some things they got right: I was able to get in early (I'm an American journalist doing a series of articles on cycling in Portugal and Spain for several American magazines and traveling on bicycle), which was important because the weather was terrible (Spain flooding timeframe) There are two TVs, which is convenient - the living room is "smart" so you can cast from your mobile devices There is a dryer, which is a first for me, very convenient! I like the way the apartment could be 'opened' (with doors) to let in light Even with 'sketchy' neighborhood, never felt in danger, and was o.k. with setting but, again, if you're expecting a beachfront setting with resort hotels, this isn't it.

To be improved

I really dislike the electronic checkin systems, might be good for owners but stressful and, potentially, a real problem for clients. This stay required a special download to get an app that suppose would allow you to enter the apartment with your phone - but it didn't work. This requires a lot of wasted time that I value. Then you have a huge deposit that has to be submitted (a first for me), with all the questions about your information going to an unknown third party . There is a huge amount of overload information sent, etc. I can only assume owner has had previous problems with clients and now the rest of us are paying for it! I eventually got in the room but not without a lot of stress, and wasted time. The directions and apartment location could be clearer - both in person and before on the platform. But I would probably stay here again having gone through all the process so I know how things works. Wasn't a big deal to me, but this definitely isn't beachfront or anything of the kind as posted on the website.
