“Good Hotel awful area”
The best

The Hotel and staff were great. Rooftop bar is good and so is the food. However, the area around the hotel is awful. During the morning you should be ok around the front of the hotel but i would advice not going around the area after dark and uber/taxiing in and out. Lots of prostitues drug dealers lurking in the streets around the hotel

“Central hotel, even in a questionable neighborhood”
The best

Barceló Raval is a solid choice if you want a centrally located hotel in Barcelona. Even though it is situated in a neighborhood that looks a bit dirty and potentially unsafe at first glance, we did not experience any problems at all. Police presence in the area is noticeable, which adds a sense of security and makes walking around comfortable, even in the evening. The staff was professional and helpful throughout the stay. We did not take the breakfast option, mainly because there are many bakeries, cafés, and places to eat nearby, including the famous Mercat de la Boqueria, which is just a short walk away and offers good food choices. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its central location. Many major tourist attractions are within walking distance, making it very convenient for exploring the city on foot. Overall, the location and accessibility make Barceló Raval worth considering for a city stay in Barcelona. One aspect that we did not like was the room layout. The sink was placed directly in the room, while the toilet was separated in a small cubicle with a heavy swinging door that was difficult to open and close. Additionally, there was no water source or sink near the toilet, which felt inconvenient and poorly designed. Overall, despite the unusual room layout, the excellent location and accessibility make Barceló Raval a reasonable option for travelers who prioritize being close to the main attractions.

“Mugged”
The best

Although a lovely hotel the area is less than desirable we were mugged on the first night yards from the hotel entrance we had not even checked in it was only 8.30 We spent the rest of the evening at the police station ( great start ) to the holiday. However I informed TUI who rang the hotel to be told they didn’t know about it even though it was witnessed by the kind and helpful concierge who also rang the police . We were too scared to go out the following day and the days we had left made sure we got a taxi back before dark No one from the hotel bothered to check up on us to see if we were ok. Was so glad when it was time to go home . What a waste of time and money as well as list possessions .

“Nice time in Raval”
The best

Really enjoyed our 7 nights at Barcelo Raval. Hotel is very nice with helpful reception staff and room cleaning was of the highest standard. Ideally located for exploring the whole of the city.
