“North-central Barcelona visit”

location ok, approx 10 min walk to metro Sant Gervasi /Fontana. pleasant neighbourhood, Lidl nearby. good shower, shampoo/shower gel / liquid soap supplied. digital door locks that necessitated a smartphone to open, they worked fine. toaster, kettle, microwave, coffee pod machine and various tea bags. typical cheese and meat slices, sliced bread and juices available, if you chose to pay the extra €6 per person. I think the tea/coffee was available at all times. two jugs of fresh water per day after 11am for all occupants of approx 8 'apartments' - that's it, no other access to drinking water🙁. woman who checked us in was pleasant but poor English. bed linen and towels were fine. fridge in room a nice surprise.

no alternative fire escape visible. noisy neighbours and bin lorry emptying a large dumpster outside room TWICE per night... not joking. double mattress not great, single one better. only one power socket per bed and that's it, two others in use. (that's better than none!) room very small, sharp screws sticking out of sides of wood press, TV all in Spanish and bracket poorly fixed to wall. little/no tourist information supplied. kitchen facilities were supposed be supplied but weren't, just tables and some crockery and basic cutlery in common room -tea/coffee possible but no sink/cooker if you did want to cook. continental breakfast for €6 but only tried this once due to horrible tea and maid had no English (this is acceptable but she also was not very friendly/welcoming🙁) . air-con not working, a message in the room warning not to mess with it. old single glazed windows so poor noise insulation and a rattled a bit. one tiny table and one chair - in a small corner so chair couldn't be used as no space. shower curtain made it very hard to keep bathroom floor dry. we requested room servicing & only one hand towel (we put in shower tray due to slippery surface) was replaced, bath towels not replaced. empty toilet (cassette) roll holders both empty and were not refilled. intermittent nasty drain smell in bathroom. whole set-up all overdue a major refit.....couldn't recommend, sorry.

“There was sound throughout the night inside the room because of water pipelines passing through the room. When I wake up in the morning my head was hurting because of the sound. Room was nice though. But sound was horrible.”

“Place is in a quiet residential area. Has elevator (however to use only when strictly necessary). Self check-in possibility. Room was clean. Fridge in the room. · Cons: Self check-in comes with obligation to have a smart phone connected to internet (which can be a huge downside in case you do not have one).”
