Barrio Gem Stylish 2Bedroom Oasis in Alicante

Nothing, the apartment was ideal for our needs, I would say it is noisy outside late into the night but that’s because you are literally in the heart of the old town, it was no problem to us, we embraced the atmosphere - and if you are tired from a days adventures you soon go to sleep, it is double glazed.

The corridors were extremely intimidating, no reception so if something went wrong with the apartment, I'm not sure what we would have done. We hardly met any of the other people living in the other apartments but the few we did were unfriendly, apart from a lovely man who appeared to be a cleaner, always inside the main entrance sweeping the floor . While there was no noise within the apartment block, the streets were very noisy at night.

The noise insulation was poor. We slept very badly as we could hear the festival, bars and workers all 3 nights. we had the windows and doors closed but it made no difference. A few months ago we stayed in a hotel just round the corner and we heard no noise.

Noise was an issue. Below apartment there are bars, cafes, restaurants etc. No sound proofing on either of the bedroom doors which lead onto a very tiny balcony. Friday night was just awful. Music, folk on streets talking very loudly. This went on until about 0330. I'd imagine its like this Fri to Sun. Everyone out partying. Church bells close by go off at 8am. Theres always some building work going on somewhere in Alicante - we were awoken by drilling sounds, street cleaners and folk shouting at top of their voices.
