Bastardo Hostel

We had an exceptional experience at Bastardo. The hospitality was outstanding, and we felt truly welcomed from the moment we arrived. In particular, we would like to thank Samuel, who was exceptionally gracious and attentive—his kindness truly enhanced our visit. We look forward to returning soon.

I booked a quiet room, but it was very noisy. I booked it for three days, and on the third day I checked out. Every day the cleaning staff came and cleaned noisily, opening the windows without any regard for the sleeping guests.

This place has so much character! There is art all over. I loved that we had access to a fridge and kitchen, which we used every day. They had free and paid activities available as well as paid breakfast, a full bar, and a restaurant on the premises. The location was also very good - close to the metro and nice to walk around. The staff was also super nice and happy to talk in Spanish with us even though our Spanish is not perfect. The room was really cool and had a huge shower and great view (4th floor) as well as a rooftop common area area right on our floor! We were also able to control our own A/C which is always nice. This place was not perfect but I had so much fun here so I’d definitely return.

I would highly recommend this hosel. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The rooms are fantastic with a good amount of space and comfortable beds. The style of the hostel is fun and lots of activities on offer. The restaurant attached is lovely and the food is delicious. We had breakfast included for our school group and it was fantastic with a lovely selection. The rooms and the hostel were clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The outside area both at the front and the roof terrace are lovely. The location is great and easy to get to and not far to walk to the main shopping area. There are lots of shops and bars close by and a metro station. We stayed as a school group of 5 pupils (aged 17-18) but it is idea for all ages and I would definitely return as a couple with my husband or friends.

Very good experience altogether, the location is sensational having Tibuna metro just around the corner, same applies to Fuencarral, Gran Via, Cheuca, you can walk anywhere from the hostel. My female only 4 beds room had the best bathroom ever and it was super quiet at night even though the hostel has a huge bar downstairs, I slept incredibly well and even extended one extra night my initial tay. Friendly staff, super helpful and the cleaning ladies are the best ever!

Bastardo had a deceptive description on their listing on Agoda. Description said six bed room, maximum one person. So I booked it, but then I found out it was just a bed in a six bed dorm room. And Bastardo refused to refund my money. I have booked double and triple rooms before and was never asked to share the room with others. If it is just a bed in a dorm room, it should be advertised as such! Bastardo indeed!
