“Estancia confortable”
“Unwelcoming hostel. No a/c in the rooms. There was no Breakfast. (B&B = Bed & Breakfast)”
It was great to have access to a kettle to be able to make a cup of tea. I also used the kettle to boil water so I could cook my pasta by soaking it in a bowl. Comfortable bed, but could have used an extra layer of bedding. I had to get dressed at 2am because the room was suddenly too cold to sleep.
I hadn't realised it was a shared bathroom when I booked the room - my mistake. Unable to adjust the temperature of the room, and I became very cold in the night with only a very thin sheet/cover on the bed. The listing states air-conditioning, but there is not a/c in the bedrooms. The bedroom and the entire house felt airless and closed in. I could either sit outside in the heat, or sit inside where it was cooler, but stuffy. It felt to me like the only place that had air circulating was the corridoor. Unable to use the hob to cook my pasta. The kitchen space was not welcoming. Lots of signs everywhere, like a hostel, telling you to clean up after yourself, which came across as unwelcoming and unfriendly. Very old dirty scourer in the kitchen - fortunately I had my own one with me to clean my cup. Late check-in at 4pm. Early check-out by 10am was a bit tough for me! It would have been nice to have been able to sit and have a relaxed cup of tea after vacating my room by 10am, but the host was keen for us to be off the premises by 10am. Again, just not welcoming or what I look for.

“Decently comfortable, but wouldn’t return if we could help it”
It was quiet. Once we got the hang of the public transport to the Valldoreix station & the V2 bus to the B&B, it was good. Make sure you’re sorted with that before attempting to travel there with all your luggage.
The cleaning wasn’t good. There was a layer of dust on the chair, the bathroom smelled mildly of urine and every single shower taken in the attached bathroom was like being hotboxed. There’s no ventilation in the bathroom, and so it heats up the room as well. Just save yourself and open the balcony door permanently
“I arrived on a Sunday afternoon, so everything was pretty self-service. The lovely staff sent the codes to me by email & Whatsapp, which was really handy. Everything worked pretty well, and the house is in a really quiet and nice area. Public transportation to Barcelona is easily accessible with enough scheduling of S1 & S2. I was visiting a friend in the town center of Sant Cugat, and this was the only B&B around when I made the last-minute decision to book and stay around, glad that it turned out to be a good night's stay. · Cons: The house is located on the slightly far side of Valldoreix, and Google showed 2 routes; one was very hilly with ups-and-downs while the other was considerably better. I almost lost the will to continue ahead when I arrived and walked the former, so you'll have to be smart with this after the roundabout near the train station.”
