“No A/C and no assistance whatsoever”

The location is good, beachfront and near nice restaurants and supermarket which was convenient.

No A/C. It was not working, immediately notified, no response for days. Finally, a technician came on Friday, could not fixed and wouldn’t do anything over the weekend, said they would be back on Monday. No one showed up until Wednesday, they were not the same technicians and were not aware of the others coming before them, had no clue how to fix it and left. We spent 10 days in that apartment with no air conditioning, they main reason we booked this even though the bad reviews and paid 2700€, the managing company couldn’t have cared less, no follow up at all, absolutely nothing. We feel robbed.

Great location. 1 min to the sea. A big apartment with a well stocked kitchen. Easy check in. The apartment is on the expensive side but the position and balcony are great. Was concerned about building work after reading previous reviews but they seem to have completed the main construction work so wasn’t disruptive or noisy. Would stay again.

To be improved

The decor is a little dated and the rubbish procedure is laborious.

The best

You can't beat the location of this apartment with its expansive sea views, lovely beach at Cala Galiota right outside your door, walking distance to the entire town, more importantly, within a block of the bakery and a market. The apartment is spacious with fine facilities and is fully equipped and has a large terrace with a sea view. We've come back to "home-away-from-home" several times, and it is always my first choice of places to stay.

To be improved

Master clothes cupboard needs some attention due a visit from a male cat, and the retractable sun awning needs to be replaced.

We were sad about the new building abutting the property. It was vacant and under construction during our stay. Won't be too keen on the window that looks directly into master bedroom, bathroom and terrace.

“We've stayed here several times and have come to think of Migjorn Cel as our home away from home.”

The best

The location and view are probably the best in town. Paradise is in your front yard, and everything you need or desire is conveniently within walking distance; supermarket, bakery, restaurants, bars, the front port, beuatiful beaches, and the l'avenida. Cala Galiota is the most beautiful cove with clear waters and great snorkeling, though swimming access takes careful navigation. Migjorn Cel is a contemporary, clean, well-lit dwelling in the heart of Colonia de Sant Jordi.

To be improved

The calcium and salt in Colonia's water system takes its toll on systems and appliances. Toilets can be slow to fill and drains to empty, dishwasher will leave more buildup that cleaning, and some doors and windows can be difficult to open and close. It could use a little TLC and minor maintenance to bring it back to prime. We are not, but some may be bothered by the joyful and tearful squeals of the children's playground right next door, and the neighbor's barking dog.
