“Avoid this listing and be cautious using Booking.com”

N/A I liked the CCTV cameras on the veranda watching us eat every night... :-) The vast amount of expired food in kitchen cupboards.

SCAMMED out of €100 Damage Deposit – Booking.com DID Nothing. We booked Bungalow à Orihuela Costa en Espagne via Booking.com in June 2025. The listing clearly stated a €300 cash damage deposit, to be refunded in full at check-out, provided no damage occurred. However, upon arrival, we were informed that €100 of the deposit would not be returned, supposedly to cover cleaning, a service not listed in the terms and never agreed upon. When I requested a receipt or invoice, I was refused. We contacted Booking.com during our stay, but received no meaningful support. The pressure and lack of accountability made us feel unsafe, and we decided to cut our holiday short. Before departure, we cleaned the property immaculately, including all bedding and towels, and filmed the entire apartment. At check-out, the host arrived with an unknown man. Only €200 was returned, and again, no receipt was provided. We were handed a scribbled note and told to leave. We submitted the following to Booking.com: Video of the cleaned property, Footage of the deposit handover, Screenshots and messages from the host. Booking.com has done nothing. The listing remains live with the same misleading claim of a “fully refundable deposit.” We later discovered that other guests reported similar experiences, with €100 or more withheld for cleaning or late check-in, again without consent or documentation. This shows a recurring pattern, and Booking.com is now clearly aware but has refused to act. Message to the Property Owner -If you're planning to claim that we caused “discomfort” to your representative, be advised: We cut our stay short to avoid further stress. We have video evidence of your representative acting in an unpleasant and controlling manner, and asking for a legal receipt for €300 cash is not harassment; it’s a basic consumer right. This case has now been reported to: The Spanish Civil Guard, ECC-Net (European Consumer Centre), FPS Economy Belgium

“Don’t rent the apartment and if you do, don’t pay the deposit!!!”
To be improved

Stay away – scam and unacceptable behavior from start to finish! We rented an apartment through Booking.com and had one of the most unpleasant experiences ever. The landlord withheld €120 from our deposit, claiming it was for late check-in and early check-out – which is completely against what was stated in the Booking.com description, where both check-in/out and cleaning were included in the price. On top of that, they wanted additional payment for cleaning – again, something that was supposed to be included. This is nothing but a scam, and it reeks of dishonesty and fraud! Instead of showing up personally and taking responsibility, the landlord sends random people who pretend they know nothing – leaving you with the feeling of being completely manipulated. Totally unprofessional and deeply frustrating. This is blatantly bad behavior, and we strongly warn others against renting from this landlord. You’re being ripped off, and the money doesn’t match what was promised. This wasn’t just bad service – it was deliberate deception and unfair treatment. We’ve traveled a lot and rented many places – but this stands out as one of the worst experiences. Stay far away!

“Dream hills apartment”
The best

Apartment was clean and tidy, modern furniture, everything that you needed for a stay either short or long. The people met us and gave us the keys explained everything and was very polite and as we were leaving early at the end of the holiday met us at 5am to return the 300 euro deposit and all good. Apartment close to shops and just up the road was a commercial centre with few bars and restaurants. The apartment is a long way from the coast so you will need a car. All in all we enjoyed our stay

Not much we didn't like, but things we expected. No toilet rolls no bags in bins there was no electric kettle but the main thing we didn't expect was the 100 euro charge for cleaning there is no mention of this anywhere making the apartment more expensive

Everything you needed was in the Bungalow although I would more describe it as a ground flat apartment. Good out door space .Shops were local. Pool area well kept. And very close to a commercial centre. Also Emerald Isle is in walking distance where there is entertainment every night.

To be improved

You needed transport to get to the beaches and main shopping area La Zenia Boulevard.
