“Budget place, ok for short trips, probably better for younger people, needs some investment”

- Very good location, very friendly and helpful staff

To be improved

- There was no hot water during the first day, it got fixed the mid-day the next day (total stay 3 days) - The shower cabin was not closing itself fully (broken), so you need to be careful for the water not to splash into the room. - Everything on the 180cm level and above is covered in dust that nobody ever cleaned (wood, shower, lamp). There was also a spider's web on the ceiling. - During the weekend the music and the heavy bass from the club below are horrible, and the acoustics are bad—we could hear people talking/laughing from the rooms above us in the middle of the night/early morning, and we could not sleep - The online checking is very long with way to much info needed, and I dont really understand that as every day there was a personel there in the office/reception that could just do it for us - TV was not really working - it was just saying not connected to the network, tried various things and gave up

“A very good place for the price — totally worth it!”
The best

I absolutely loved my stay! The room was very cozy and the atmosphere in the entire place felt warm and welcoming. The staff were kind, responsive, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The location was incredibly convenient — just a 5-minute walk to the ocean! One of the most pleasant surprises was a little corner on the ground floor where guests could borrow things for free: beach towels, sunscreen, after-sun lotion, hiking gear, a beach umbrella, and even surfboards. It was such a thoughtful touch. The kitchen was also fantastic — very well equipped with everything you could possibly need: plenty of pots, pans, utensils, and even a great selection of spices for cooking.

To be improved

The only minor downside was that the building itself felt a bit old and there were some small imperfections in the room, but nothing that really affected our stay. Also, there’s a nightclub next to the hostel that plays music at night — it didn’t bother us, but for light sleepers it might be a bit noisy.

I can't comment on breakfast, as I chose to eat out .I've stayed at cactus a few times ,so I obviously like it .I like the fresh smell of laundry, when you enter the property and it's got every appliance to be clean and cook your own food .Location is also very good ,a 3 minute walk to bus station and plenty of bars and restaurants very close by

There isn't anything I didn't like ,it's great value for money

“Bed bugs”
The best

This is a cute place with a nice design in the center of Las Palmas, very close to the beach. The bed was comfortable, and the rooms and communal spaces are of great taste and design. There is also a nice terrace where I could cook and wash my clothes, which is a great addition. The receptionist is a pure sweetheart.

To be improved

I had to revise my review after my second stay here. First time I came out with strange bites on my skin, which took a while to heal. During my second stay, I clearly saw BED BUGS on my pillow, and the manager offered me a suite as an excuse without any compensation. I then saw that more ppl encountered the same problem here and seems the property doesnt bother.

The best

I do like the location of the place and the concept itself. Every room has everything you need+ a TV There is also a nice rooftop space with cooking option and you can use the washing machine which is a big plus.

To be improved

Its my second stay here. First time I moved out in a different place and found some strange bites on my skin. I thought those were mosquitos so I didnt care much although those bites were healing for quite a while. This time I stayed longer and the day before leaving I clearly saw bed bugs on my pillows and found my back totally bitten. The bites are still being cured, I had to rewise my clothes and baggages. I also showed the pictures to the manager and she gave me a suite for my last night stay as an excuse. I then read the reviews here and on google maps which mention the same problem and a reply from the manager that the bugs may come from anywhere else. Seems the problem has been there for a while so I guess the specific measurements should be implemented. Doing a proper desinsection and bying a dryer for linen may solve the problem. Hope that helps.
