“A tranquil place for relaxing in the heart of the countryside in the foothills of the Pyrenees”
The best

The location was superb - wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, easy access to the main roads to take us to places like Besalu, Banyoles, Girona, Figueres and to the coast. However, we were enjoying a quiet time with our two dogs and they were able to roam free around the property, interacting with the owners' friendly dogs leaving me free to get on with my book! The pool area was lovely, with lounging chairs under the trees which I occasionally moved to the generous terrace to catch some rays! The village of Vilavenut is tiny, with a pretty church and the most amazing restaurant - El Brot - Gastromique Radical. We enjoyed a superb four course meal there and would recommend it to those who love fine dining, in a relaxed atmosphere. We would definitely visit again. Thanks to Joan for his hospitality and endless helpfulness.

To be improved

There are no shops within walking distance but that posed no problem, I enjoyed shopping at the hypermarket in Olot!
