“Family Stay to Attend a Wedding in Palma”
As the weather was not very sunny and quite cold the sauna, hot tub and gym were a blessing. There wax no additional charge for the electricity or use of these facilities. We chose the villa due to its proximity to Palma where we were attending a wedding and the price as similar villas nearer the beach were a lot more expensive. The outdoor kitchen and BBQ was a bonus. The following negative comments are more for feedback and observations that did not unduly spoil our holiday. Jose is an excellent host and tried his hardest to make are stay enjoyable including supplying us with lots of local information.
The location is a little remote. There are no restaurants or bars within a acceptable walking distance. There is no public transport although the taxis are reasonably cheap charging between 17 and 25 dollars to Palma or the airport depending on what time of day and whether you spoke Spanish or not. Consequently would suggest a hire car was absolutely essential. The ground floor has been tastefully modernised and it would be much more appealing if the upper floor was treated to an update. The gardens need some urgent maintenance as do some of the appliances and the swimming pool tiling. There is an ornamental pond in the garden that is full of mosquito larvae and all of us where bitten including the baby. The manager said he had put chlorine in it but I would strongly suggest it would be better left empty as it doesn’t add any aesthetic value to the garden. Would also suggest a carport in the parking area to shade the cars. There needs to be a mirror in situ opposite the gate as there is no visibility of the fast moving traffic on the road making it very difficult to pull out. We positioned someone opposite to direct our exit but not the most ideal solution
“Relaxing, feeling away from it all. Lots of space”
The hot tub and workout areas were really great. There were great views all around and the sounds of roosters crowing and goats/sheep creates a relaxing country environment not far from Palma
Would have really, really appreciated providing minimal supplies to get started like salt, sugar, coffee, tea, bar of soap or gel for shower and a roll of extra toilet paper per bathroom. Especially since we arrived on a day when all stores were closed for the holiday (Dec 26, which is not a holiday in the US, so didn’t even know things would be closed). They did provide wine and sweet snacks, kitchenware.
