Every time we need to call the owner to open up the main door which is really annoying. Bad smell at the stair case. Very limited supply of hot water. Just enough for two persons.

In comparison to other apartments in Alicante of the same price level this place has several downsides: The owner is very passive and does not give enough instructions, you need to ask for everything: which is the correct door/address, how do you check-in, what is the wifi and password… The apartment is neglected and needs renovation. Especially bathroom is ugly: rusty, moldy and broken. Items need to be replaced. I never got instructions for TV (I think the antenna cable is missing and therefore you cannot watch TV). Not enough kitchen utencils and some are broken. Problems also with leaking toilet, very bad smell coming in from bedroom window (due to toilet pipes below). The stairs to the apartment were steep, unevenly high and dangerous. Lots of noise from people living around (unhappy couples arguing) and noise from renovation. I would rather spend my money somewhere else than return.

The first problem we encountered was communication with the host: slow and not really effective. It took us nearly two days to obtain access to the wifi, as the one mentioned in the sheet in the apartment was not available. We found a couple of things (clothing items) in the apartment which presumably belonged to the previous guests, this didn't give us the feeling of a thorough cleaning. Our last, but probably worst problem, was the main door. Upon mentioning in our first call with the manager of the property that, once locked, the door could not be opened with the keys we received, the problem was overlooked and not taken seriously. We tried to get around it by not completely closing the door, but one night other guests living in the same building closed it and when we came back we stayed locked outside. We had to wait more than one hour, at night, between trying to get in contact with the manager, and getting someone to sort out the problem. It was very inconvenient. I am sure we probably were quite unlucky, as the property has great reviews overall, but these issues made our stay not completely pleasant unfortunately.
