Casa Algezar is right on the GR330 long distance path - perfect for a long distance “through hiker” like me. The hosts were super friendly and flexible with my wife who acts as my support. She dropped off my overnight bag and collected it the next day which was not a problem. Evening drinks and communal meal with the hosts, their son and another guest couple was very nice and the food great. Breakfast was filling (very important for me!), had a wide choice (including homemade granola and eggs to order) and was delicious. Room was great. Thanks for being super friendly.

To be improved

Possibly, in line with the eco approach, the toiletries were sachet based and whilst good, didn’t appear to reflect the price of an overnight stay. While I understand bottled water in the room is not appropriate for an eco establishment, it could have been made clearer if the tap water was drinkable (it apparently was!).

The best

Hosts were friendly, met us on arrival and were available to answer any questions. Location was quiet and the garden had several areas where you could sit, relax and take in the view. The rooms were clean and tastefully decorated; beds comfortable. The pellet burner in the room was appreciated on our first night when the weather was quite chilly! The breakfast was wonderful. Freshly cooked bread and croissants, fruit, homemade cereals, yoghurt, cooked eggs… too much choice to mention.
