“Good pool/location. Poor property management.”

The best

The pool area is faultless. Well maintained and perfect for children. The local residents seem friendly. Once we had cleaned the apartment, we felt it was a comfortable space. One bed is really comfy, the second bed is more like a camp bed. Very comfy couch. Air-con functions well but does not vent into the second bedroom. It was a 5 min walk down into the town.

To be improved

The apartment was not clean when we arrived and felt as if it had been vacant for a while (musky and damp). We had to wash and dry all the bedding (there is only 1 set) as it was grubby and had glitter on it, and mop all of the floors inside and out. The walls in most rooms have damp and mould creating a strong smell. The front outside seating area had been made home by the local stray cats so the seats were covered in hairs and muck. We complained to management and requested some fresh bed linen, this arrived three days after our request and was single bed linen so did not fit the beds, we had to buy some in the end. The person who meets you on arrival only understands very little english (which would not be an issue if there was any information available at all in other languages at the accommodation for us to read) and just shrugged at the issues we pointed at and said 'I do not understand'. She also turned up late when we arrived, and early when we left. There is no welcome book or guide in the apartment so we didn't know if there were spare keys, if there was a check in and out process, how to access the pool (which is tricky) or pool times or how any of the appliances (including the gas bottles) or the water tank worked, or who to call in an emergency. The back terrace furniture is worn and grubby, we did not use it for the entirety of our stay. All of these concerns were explained to the management of the property but all brushed off. Apparently they can't do anything about the local cat 'community', the damp is just a problem in the area, and the terraces are dirty because of the wind... Such a shame as with a bit of care this accommodation would have been perfect.
