Casa Boutique Bailen Alicante Old Town

The property is superb but it is very badly managed by the rental agency Bennecke: 1. They demand a 300euro security deposit BEFORE confirming the booking (not upon arrival like other properties) so you're out of pocket weeks if not months before your stay. Most unethical. 2. Despite making my non-Spanish skills quite clear to them (I speak English and French) and having their repeated approval of my 10pm check-in time, I was left standing in the street at 10pm. A woman showed up 15mns later, speaking only Spanish (and Italian), could not identify herself nor explain coherently anything about the flat, the keys, the WiFi, etc. Most unnerving for this seasoned traveller. 3. The flat was an oven upon arrival - my phone registered 27C - so no one had been there to turn on the a/c although I had texted from the airport when I landed. It took a couple of hours to cool the place down. 4. The bed was made up without a bottom sheet, only a mattress cover (??), a top sheet and a thin bedcover. I sorted that out via text messages on Booking.com and the next morning the same woman showed up, still obviously unable to communicate in English, but dropping off appropriate linen. 5. No one communicated with me about check-out procedure so on the last day I'm left to chase Bennecke and then decipher gibberish texts from the same woman who checked me in, about where to leave the keys. 6. I also had to chase Bennecke for the return of the 300euro safety deposit, despite providing them on day of departure with extensive photographic proof of how immaculate I'd left the flat. They eventually credited my card 24 days AFTER departure day, lied about when they'd refunded the deposit and then had the arrogance of justifying the delay by saying they could hold the deposit for 30 days. I've never had such an appalling 'management' experience with an online booking site.

if u dont want problems AVOID THIS PLACE. i been accused of stayin more people then it was(therefore they wanted to keep depositum of 300euros)they didnt ewen tried to talk to me first they reported straight to booking .com . was a shocking and very stressfull situation. staff is rude disrespecfull and not helpfull there is not compromising nothing . lady speaking with me from reception was chewing gum in the phone loud while speaking , plus with a raised voice. never got apology or anything like that . been ignored whole stay. when leaving they didnt ewen bothered to come and collect key . never answered phone or message . NEVER EWER IN MY LIFE I HAD SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE and been disrespected or accused such a thing. also apartment was not clean . but the location was perfect ,but much sound cause apartment is in midlle of restaurants and bars perfect for people who likes to go to party ,short way back home :D. well i hope this was helpfull for people staying in future:) DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE . ☺️
