“Punta de la Mona (La Herradura) is the ideal setting for relaxation and adventure”
Nestled on the prestigious hillside overlooking the sea, the house offered the perfect setting for a relaxing family getaway. The home comfortably sleeps seven, gave us plenty of space to unwind and enjoy ourselves. The shaded balcony quickly became one of our favourite spots — we’d have all our meals there, gazing out across the Mediterranean as multiple swifts danced and darted through the air in the soft morning and golden evening light. The sun-drenched terrace was another highlight. It gets sun throughout the day and is ideal for reading, or stretching out on the yoga mats generously provided by our host. Practicing yoga with that stunning sea view and gentle breeze was truly special. The house was excellently maintained and stocked with everything we needed for a two-week stay — from kitchen essentials and basics to comfortable linens, a home away from home. Access to the beautiful community pool was a great way to cool off and relax. The community is composed of tastefully crafted villas and apartments in a harmonious blend of Moorish and Spanish styles, all perched below the historic 18th-century lighthouse. We loved our daily morning strolls down to the far end of the beach, where the town of La Herradura gently curves around its picturesque bay. The town, a 20 minute walk down the hill, has a laid-back, welcoming vibe with lovely cafés, and excellent restaurants dotted along the seafront. We were especially grateful to our host, Juan, whose warm hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. Not only was he attentive and responsive throughout our visit, but he also generously loaned us his bicycles, allowing us to explore more of the surrounding area including Almuñécar. This house and location met our expectations in every way. It was the ideal setting for both relaxation and adventure, and we’re already planning our return. Ten out of ten without hesitation.
“Very comfortable. Highly recommeded!”
Wonderful property! Well designed, very spacious and light. Great balcony and roof top terrace. Superb views out to sea and along the coast. Excellent facilities, there really was everything we needed as a family of 4. Shared swimming pool works really well - also great views! Well looked after (though not heated, so a little chilly in April!) Lots of amazing beaches nearby. We even found a nice short walk from the house up to the lighthouse and to the little ermitage.
