“very quiet location and interesting environment including an unconventional cellar construction · Cons: in May it was 12 degrees inside the rooms at night. we slept with more blankets. the house is quite high and the weather was worse, mostly clouds. we had to go down for warmth. only gas heater available. because the house is powered only by solar panels and a power plant.”

“Casa de los abuelos” is a quiet, peaceful, magical place, situated in the mountains with a view of the city and the ocean. A cozy cottage with a large garden. Morning breakfast on the terrace in the rays of the rising sun is priceless. The hosts are friendly and helpful.

“Great for a quiet off grid stay.”

A great out of the way location, property owners are really nice & helpful. Internet speed is around 500MB, so, very good. Old oil drum BBQ was great. There is hot water on demand available via Calor gas, with a spare bottle if you run out!

To be improved

I need to point out that to get to the property, you have a 5 minute drive off road! the track is dusty, stoney and many pot holes and ditches, be aware of this. A 4x4 would be better, we had a VW T-Roc which coped ok. The property is off grid, using solar and backup petrol generator. The heating is 1 mobile Calor gas heater, the evening temperature was around 10c, so heater was needed. The bathroom is a room within the lounge/kitchen/diner, it has no window, extraction, heating or ventilation! The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, old microwave, blender, washing machine, gas hob & oven, that`s it! Although there are 3 gas hob coffee percolators.

“perfect place to walk and to chill out”

The location is very good, calm and close to walks and restaurants. Beds are very comfortable. The big table outside is perfect for a drink or dinner.

To be improved

The dirt road to access the property is a bit tricky (but can be mastered by a regular car)
