“Visiting out of usual tourist season made for a great experience (and some disadvantages)”

This was a really amazing place to stay - a quirky old house right in the old and beautiful village, about half way up the slope. The pastries/cakes at breakfast were great, and breakfast was overall generous. We went just before the tourist season, which had the advantage that we could enjoy the views and walks without it being crowded, and we ate at a local bar (Bar Hondonera), which was great for people-watching as well as views, rather than at the larger touristy places down in the valley at the bottom, which were mostly not open yet (though they might have had more variety of food). We enjoyed walks around the area (definitely better before the weather gets too hot).

To be improved

It was difficult to find space to open and store a suitcase in the room we had, which was a bit minimalist in some ways (probably better in warmer weather since there were so many terraces and outdoor areas which could have been enjoyed). Being out of season, many places which were advertised on google as open, were not. I advise checking in advance. Meat and cheese at breakfast was only average (compared with the cakes!).

The lady in charge was one in a million, great personality and very helpful.

To be improved

the walk up to the apartment, was steep and hard to find. not much you can do about that. as its built into the mountain. would not recommend it to any one that had difficulty walking.
