“Disappointing”

At our arrival the apartment was still in the state in which the previous guests left it (no cleaning, beds not changed, bathroom not refreshed, kitchen dirty). The owner knew that we were coming but said there had been a misunderstanding with the cleaning person. I'm not sure I believe this excuse. In any case, the owner immediately sent someone to clean the apartment, and after 2 hours we had a more or less clean apartment, although the kitchen was still not perfectly clean. Overall it was a disappointing experience.

Not much that can be done about this, but the stairs within the property were severe...the height of each step was difficult for my 75 year old mother.
