• Location:
It’s in a quiet area, just a 10-minute walk to Ajabo beach and a 20-minute drive from the south airport. There are some great restaurants nearby—like the one on the beach—but Delphin is the real gem, with fantastic seafood, friendly service, reasonable prices, and stunning ocean views.
• Private Pool:
The private pool is well-maintained, slightly heated, and perfect for daily swims. It’s one of the few things that worked as expected.
• Facilities & Layout:
The facilities are decent, and the layout is spacious enough for everyone to relax without feeling cramped.
Cons:
• Support from SMART Holiday:
Support from SMART holiday was a bit like waiting for a bus that never comes—eventually, you just have to find another way. When the first power cut happened, I wasn’t sure who to contact—the Booking.com messenger, the WhatsApp check-in person, or the emergency number—so I tried all three. Unfortunately, no one called back or sent an engineer, and we ended up resolving it ourselves.
A week later, a second power cut occurred, this time with rainwater leaking through the light sockets. It was concerning, especially with children in the house. I reached out again, but the emergency line went unanswered, and no help arrived. I eventually went out in the rain to the SMART holiday maintenance building across the road, where I found their office dealing with its own leaks, with buckets catching water everywhere. I asked someone there to check our issue, and they brought an engineer who confirmed it was a serious problem and said someone would come in the morning. We spent the night without power, fans, or lights, and by midday the next day, no one had shown up or called, nor was alternative accommodation offered. It was disappointing, especially with kids to look after. Booking.com was helpful in assisting us to move to a hotel for the remainder of our stay.
