“We has a lovely in property again. Wonderful roof terrace with beautiful views. Location is perfect.”
To be improved

Basement bedroom doesn’t have air conditioning so hot at night and also smells a little musty.

“Loved this property”
The best

Just returned from a week staying in Altea at this charming, comfortable and convenient town house. Location of the property is great, you can easily walk to the old town, sea front, large super market and high street. The property doesn't have parking but a free very large public car park is only a 5 minute walk. The standout bonus is the roof terrace. The views are spectacular; mountains, sea and old town with the blue doomed church are a feast for the eyes. We spent a lot of time here and even cooked a couple of meals in and ate them enjoying the views with the Swifts dancing in the sky above. You can watch the sunrise and set too. The kitchen is well equipped and has a nespresso coffee machine which was an unexpected bonus. The bathrooms were clean and the shower was good. Bed was comfortable.

To be improved

Lower ground floor bedroom did have a musty smell but I'm sure if you kept the windows open for a while it would disappear. There are lots of stairs but that's what you expect really from this type of old property in this location.

“A thoroughly enjoyable rental facilitating the best Altea has to offer.”
The best

As described a traditional Spanish townhouse in an excellent location in Altea. Easy access to the sea front, supermarkets /shops and of course the Old Town of Altea. Not our first stay in Altea but best location by far. We stayed a month. Our hosts were magnificent and any contact made was very quickly dealt with, noticeably so compared to other hosts we have rented from and as "seasoned renters" this makes a huge difference to the experience. I think it worthy of note that if you want soulless chrome, glass and grey then this property isn`t for you but if what you seek is authenticity, charm and a rental typical of the area then this house is for you. I believe it would be equally well catered in the hot months as air condition is there if you need it. I read some unmerited harsh reviews prior to our trip, and perhaps if guests could be practical e.g. simply open the bathroom windows after showering to let steam out thus reducing the build up of moisture spores this would greatly assist the hosts and the property.

To be improved

The house can sleep x 6 adults but the living room area is lacking in seating space for same. However, the super spacious basement bedroom has x 2 extra chairs that can easily be taken upstairs during your stay and doesn`t pose a problem.

“A lovely stay, but access should be made clear.”
The best

The property was generally well equipped, clean and nicely decorated. The terrace is beautiful with great views and perfect place to watch the sunset. The staff hosting the property were very welcoming and helpful, easy to contact and offered great restaurant suggestions.

To be improved

I would agree with other reviews regarding the bedroom located in the basement. It was damp in areas and probably not suitable to be a bedroom given the damp. A dehumidifier has to be kept on in the bathroom in the basement to try and keep on top of the damp, this is not ideal. The shower in the bathroom in the basement does not drain properly and leaks on the floor. The apartment is listed as family friendly, however an additional charge is applied for a travel cot, which does not seem very family friendly. The property is over four floors, so not ideal for anybody with mobility issues or young children/ toddlers. The property is beautiful and traditional in design but it should be made clear that the stairs are very steep and the property is across four floors. The property is located in a lovely, quiet traditional area, but there is no information prior to booking that informs that the streets leading up to and around the property are extremely steep. We travelled as a family with a pushchair and the streets leading to and from are too steep and slippy to use the pushchair. Thankfully we had a baby carrier to use until we got to flat ground. This should be detailed in the property description as anybody with children or mobility/ access issues would find it very difficult or impossible to access the property.

“House was broken into while we were asleep.”
The best

Location, space terrace

To be improved

We were burgled while we were asleep. The door was not forced so very suspicious. The agency did not do much to help. We asked for a second lock, they said they were going to fit it but they never did. We never felt safe again in the house. After we left I was called by the agency three times to tell me that the house was not in 'impeccable' state. They expected us to fully clean the house before leaving, which is ridiculous. It's a shame that such a nice place is being managed by incompetents.
