“Superb, comfortable, excellent location, attention to detail, helpful host. Highly recommend.”
We loved this property. Beautifully renovated old town house in the 'old town' close to all the best restaurants and bars. The attention to detail, from complementary wine, water and crisps waiting for us on arrival :) to having Nespresso coffee in the top floor bedroom. Peaceful and private roof deck. Amazing bathrooms. Just perfect. Would highly recommend.
Nothing!
“Perfect.”
The place was amazing! such a great location. The house was so clean, very well equipped and had everything we needed. it was very modern
loved everything about the host and the house! not faults there at all. Neighbours were a little loud!
“Cold, Unfriendly, Unhelpful Corporate Nonsense. Stay Away.”
We arrived on a February winter’s day & had taken the host’s advice to park in the public car park nearby, but had not been told that it cost 20 euro per day. I rang to let the host know that we had arrived and was cut short mid-sentence directing that the key code was in an email that had been sent to me. Standing outdoors in 8 °C scrolling emails in the rain after a long travel day was less than ideal. We entered the house and it was freezing which prompted a second call to the host: “There is a pellet stove & bedroom has a wall heater. It’s all in The Book”. Click. We couldn’t find “The Book”. The stove had no fuel in it so back to scrolling emails to figure out where the fuel was stored. It was not in the cupboard by the patio. I had presumed that being winter, the house would have been warm upon arrival. We gave up with the heat & decided to eat. A baguette of fresh bread with olives, tomatoes and cheeses - a feast awaited. But there was no bread knife or sharp knife or cooking implements of any kind. Wearily we wound our way up the stairs, removing the plethora of room diffusers throughout the house. We switched on the room heater and realised that with the thick stone walls of the house there was little to no chance of the room becoming warm before dawn. At that point as all we wanted to do was take a bath (“bath or shower” read the advert - there was no bath), crawl into bed, snuggle up and watch a film. But the lightweight polyester summer duvet was useless. Cold room, cold bedding and of course, the wi-fi didn’t extend upstairs.
Let me quote from the website: “WiFi is available in all areas”. This is absolutely incorrect. The WiFi was limited to the kitchen and living room – 2 floors down. We were provided with one medium towel and one hand towel each. But the real clincher was the one roll of toilet paper. No toilet roll holder meant that the toilet paper sat on a shelf behind the toilet. Since my body does not twist in this way, I placed the toilet roll on the floor, on the spot where my wife had stepped after her shower. Yes, I soaked our entire allotment of one toilet roll in one fell swoop. So just to review, no heating, 1 half soaked roll of toilet paper, 3 dishwasher tablets, nothing to allow one to prepare even the simplest meal, no decent bedding, one bath and one hand towel, artificial scent everywhere which threw me into paroxysms of asthma, no wi-fi beyond the ground floor. Oh, we did find The Book as we left. It was located in a drawer at the bottom of a cabinet in the living room. Yes, at the height of my ankle there was a small, hardly discernible drawer, which held “The Book”. And then, as if things could not get any worse, we were texted to remove our rubbish. Excuse me? We just paid a €60 cleaning fee and you want us to TAKE OUT OUR RUBBISH? As seasoned travelers, a one star review for Casa en Grenyo is too high.
“We had a lovely stay!”
Great Location
“Loved it.”
Excellent house in brilliant location with a great host who communicates very well. Very stylishly decorated with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The roof terrace is amazing and catches the sun all through the day. Right in the centre of the old town near the restaurants and shops. Maybe 30 minutes walk to the Port and the p L’Arenal beach. We highly recommend this property.

“Exceptional”
We loved the place! The house is very beautifull and the location was perfect for us - at the heart of the narrow streets of Xábia historic centre. Amy was very helpful and gave us great suggestions. The house is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you need. We felt at home. We definitely recommend a visit to Xábia and its wonderful beaches, and this house is the perfect place to stay. Thank you Amy 😊
