That view!!!!!!!!! The whole reason to stay there. Stunning, ever-changing, opposite a banana plantation. Beautiful light. Fabulous large desk to work and paint on. Plus, San Marcos Bay is quiet and well served by 2 x restaurants (visited in March) and 2 x bars and 1 small supermarket that sells all you need. Big Lidl 10 mins drive away. We requested 6 pillows - glad we did as there is no headboard #rough wall. The balcony is shared by the 3 apartments and it would not take much effort, or planting, to give some privacy between them. Awkward to be outside at the same time as ones neighbours... free parking on the road outside THAT gate. Remember to use the TOP keypads, not the old ones below on both front gate and apartment door.

No information book. Both TV's (?!) did not work. Wi-fi router needed restarting to work. Again no instructions. Wi-fi code on back of door - found eventually. Front gate keypad stopped working and LOCKED US IN and we discovered there IS NO WAY OUT of the grounds except through that gate. It was a Sunday (isn't it always) and Ocean Rentals took many calls to answer. Gate lock taped open for 5 days before being sorted.

The apartment definitely offers an exceptional view and the opportunity to stay in a villa rather than an apartment building, but the lack of hospitality reduces a comfortable stay – washed-out towels, faded and ill-fitting bed linens (the duvet hangs out by at least 20 cm and is and is half a meter narrower than the cover), 3 in sizes and quality different pillows for 2 persons, one pillow is simply half-tied and crammed into a narrow pillowcase; non-working kitchen lighting, damaged sun blinders, a sun umbrella on the terrace held together with newspaper pages, etc. Vila saw a better life, that’s for sure. By the way, the villa's address on booking.com is incorrect (it should be 10, not 12), which also caused more trouble during check-in than desired.

The coastal views from the balcony is fantastic, the jewel in the crown. Whiling the hours away on the balcony in the sunshine was perfecto. San marco is a sleepy place, a couple of bars and restaurants. A short 20 minute but hilly walk to icod is worth it, hourly bus too, three euros for 2. Recommend the malvaise winery. The property not getting a higher score due to simple issues not being resolved, needs some TLC by the owner.

Check in instructions were very poor.This has already been picked up several times by previous visitors, see reviews. I don't know why booking .com have not resolved this yet. The address is wrong, it's 10 not 12. There are many confusing code boxes to enter the property. Again, clear instructions not sent and separate incorrect codes sent. We stayed in apartment 3 and the entry code box was located inside, through putting my hand through the gate. It took us longer than it should to enter the property, back and fro with messages to staff. The TV does not work properly, reported. The fuse box trips when all three appliances are operating. Problem with water supply which was resolved eventually. The sofa bed is firm and a tight squeeze for 2. A better comfier sofa bed is needed. 5 days sleeping on this was enough. Again, a bit of investment and clearer check in instructions would render a higher score.

The location of these apartments is excellent. there are many household appliances

it is difficult to find the house because the directions in the message are not enough and there are no signs on the house. the code from the keybox was incorrect in the message, the host did not answer our messages and calls. the apartment is not cozy enough, the drain in the shower was blocked, there were ants in the kitchen
