It was dirty, there is mold in the kitchen, it smelled like smoke inside

Unfortunately the place was dirty, the floor was not cleaned at all. In addition to it, I was told to pay €40 for cleaning in cash - I was informed about it after charging my card and only a couple of days before my arrival. I swept the floor and showed it to the property owner, but I was still charged for the cleaning. I travel all over the world and use hotels and apartments, and I have never ever been asked to pay for cleaning! The place is old and I don't mind old furniture as soon as it's functional and clean. The kitchen cupboards and things were sticky, perhaps wiped but not cleaned properly. For the whole apartment, there were only 3 hangers, but no iron and ironing board. The lady was generally nice, but I think the place needs a bit of attention and a few extra necessary things for rental for others. There are good reviews about this apartment, and I wonder who wrote them 🤔
