“Great stay in Helgueras”

The best

We were a family of four (travelling from the UK with a 4 and 1.5 year old). We enjoyed the quiet area and local wildlife. The area felt safe and there was no traffic, ideal for the children. The views from the house were great, especially the sunrise from the terrace area. The bed was also very comfortable, with clean linen and towels provided. The showers had soap and shampoo provided as well which was handy. We had a hire car and travelled to the Picos de Europa, El Soplao caves and visited many of the nearby villages, and coastal villages throughout the week. The washing machine really made it easier to keep the boys clean, and the towel drier in the bathroom was super useful getting the clothes dry on the rainy days. Good kitchen facilities including the dishwasher, kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge + freezer. The owners Aroa and Jorge are lovely and kept in touch with us throughout our stay. Jorge did meet us on arrival with a welcoming gift, and showed us around the house which was a lovely gesture!

To be improved

Our suggestions for improvements would be. 1. Parking 2. An oven in the kitchen area (even if it is a plug in air fryer/ slow cooker/ multifunctional cooker type). 3. The kitchen tap would switch off on its own if not on full blast (handle seems to be too large for it). 4. There was no tea pot available to make a pot of tea (which we ended up buying anyway) but there is a Nespresso coffee machine. 5. It wasn't necessary, but it would've been better if a baby gate for the stairs was available, and some more baby proofing for the bed as it is quite high from the floor for the kids.

Parking next to property quite narrow if you have a big car, but it’s possible to park in the town very close to the property.

“The best house in a quite village just a step to seaside and mountains”

The best

This house is located in a nice quiet mountain village. But just a couple of kilometers away there is a town with shops and restaurants. But we didn't need them. The house was so comfortable and cozy that we didn't want to go out)). It was very comfortable to sleep in the perfect rustic silence with the windows open, to breathe crystal clear air. And in the morning we were woken up by the first roosters. You won't find this in the city. And the village itself is authentic, the inhabitants are good-natured and friendly. We walked a lot - there is a forest nearby, a river and a lot of blackberries in forest, we meet a lot of cows, horses and goats graze with bells on their necks. We've taken so many wonderful photos. The whole family is happy to stay in this house. We really hope to come back here again! We are grateful for the warm welcome, cleanliness, comfort, taste and style, attention to every detail in the house. We really liked it! And of course, we recommend it!
