Casa Lit Barcelona

The room was so small, with toilet and bathroom and room all cramped in to one space. The sound proof is terrible where I woke up in the middle of the night because of the noise outside. The staff is super super unfriendly, rude and not helpful! They tried to charge me city tax twice and also her staff told me the breakfast is free but later charged me for it , and her internal lies about the whole process. The whole experience was just so terrible and made this trip to Barecelona very disappointing.

Everything was great, the only small disappointment was how shallow the pool was but this was no big deal.

There were lots of homeless people around - however not a fault of the hotel, just to note about the area

Catfish Hotel – Dirty, Unsafe & Unacceptable Our stay at Hotel Casa Lit was a complete disaster from start to finish. The hotel is a total catfish – nothing like the photos online. When we arrived, we were given a room that was damp, with water leaking from the ceiling and wet bedding due to the moisture. The light in the room was flickering constantly, making it hard to relax, let alone sleep. We complained and were moved, but the second room was barely any better – by 4am, we were exhausted and gave up. The next morning, we were told we had to move rooms again for maintenance. When we asked for compensation, we were offered just two drinks, which felt insulting given the state of the hotel. The staff member we dealt with became rude and quite aggressive, adding unnecessary stress to an already awful experience. We were shown two more rooms, both filthy, and finally settled on the fifth one just to stop wasting our time. The “rooftop pool” is a complete joke – it’s not a pool at all, more like a shallow puddle of dirty, green water that only goes up to your knees. You absolutely cannot swim in it, and it’s nothing like the pictures online. The location is also a huge concern. Although it’s close to La Rambla, it’s in a filthy, unsafe street. Right outside the hotel is a rehab centre, with homeless people sleeping on the street, and we saw people urinating openly. As a group of 8 girls, we felt extremely unsafe walking around this area, especially in the evening. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else – this place is all smoke and mirrors, and we left feeling completely misled and disappointed.
