“REPEAT STAY - ONE YEAR ON - STILL A GREAT TRAVEL STOP”
Returned here after a year, and still really happy with the hotel. Easy to find (it can be seen from the autoroute). A typical "roadstop" hotel, with a large truck park adjacent, but good covered car parking outside the hotel. Reception excellent, the room (same one as last time!) is huge, with excellent bathroom. Quiet. Did not use the restaurant this time. Stay here with confidence.

“GOOD "ROADSTOP" HOTEL”
Stayed one night here as an overnight stop trasitting through Spain. This is a typical Spanish roadstop hotel: truck stop and garage next door, busy road to the front, but nice inside. Parking is not secure, but is off road, and directly in front of reception. Reception was really friendly (Englsih spoken). As first time customers we were given a token each to exchange for a glass of wine and cheese in the bar (gratefully accepted, and the wine was lovely!). Our room was a little way from reception, but this was an advantage as it was really quiet. Room was excellent: spacious, clean, comfortable bed, good bathroom etc. We used the restaurant for dinner, eating outside in a covered terrace, which was not too noisy (given the proximity of the road). Food was excellent, mid range price by Spanish standards. Only downside was that we did not stay for breakfast as the bar/restaurant was teeming, and service appeared very slow. I would advise those wantog breakfast before leaving to allow at least 90 minutes. Overall a very satisfactory stay, and we will certainly stay again if we use this route.
“Perfect for an overnight stay en-route”
Having to make a very long (9hrs driving trip) across 3 provinces to help a friend in need I decided to make an overnight stop and break up the journey. About half-way was Villarrobledo - a town in the wine-growing province of Albacete, A convenient stop-off hotel seemed to be perfect - the Casa Lorenzo. Ideal, easy and plenty of parking close to the entrance with only a few steps to negotiate to get into reception, you are greeted with a smile from the concierge and an immediate recognition when you give your name. The rooms are only one floor above, but anyway there is a lift, so awkward baggage is no problem. The room was excellent, so clean you could eat from the floor, adequate bedding and decent sized bathroom with a spray near the loo if you are used to using a bidet. A comfortable bed, TV and telephone, and toiletries (including a comb!) is provided together with a huge wardrobe. Wi-fi is free and you don't even need a password! Dowstairs is a large lounge and bar where you can order dinner and drinks, of course, together with an outside terrace from where you can ring a bell to summon the waiter. Drinks can be added to your bill, you don't even have to sign, just wave the key at the camarero. As the clientele are largely truckers I had thought that noise might be a problem, but no, I had an uninterrupted, peaceful night's sleep and no disturbances from guests or from the road outside. I didn't eat in the restaurant so I can't vouch for the food, but the displays looked good and so did the plates coming out to serve other customer. I was so impressed that I decided to book for the return journey and had a similar experience, even being welcomed by the concierge who recognised me even though 2 1/2 weeks had elapsed. A highly recommended, very acceptable stop-over, with friendly and professional staff and perfect for the long journey. Even though I was told there are plenty of beauty spots to visit in this area I don't think it lends itself much to the tourist trade. and indeed the nearby towns of Villarrobledo and St Clemente leave much to be desired. Otherwise very good. One slight nit-pick, though, on the info given by Booking.com it gives the impression it is right off the autovia, A-43. It is not. You have to get onto the N-310 towards St Clemente and then it is easy to find. You can secure a room via credit card, but they do not take payment until you leave. A double room, single occupancy, for one night was 33.30Euros, including tax, but breakfast is 4.50Euros extra. Thank you, Casa Lorenzo, for making my long, long journey bearable and I will be staying again, when I come back, the next time.
“Great hotel”
Lovely, spacious, clean room with balcony. Had meal in bar as restaurant was closed. Menu del dia @€13 including wine. Quite a good central location to stay longer and explore La Mancha. Very easy parking, lift, very friendly staff.
“Nice rooms. But the outside is a truck stop.”
At first glance you are assailed with row upon row of trucks and cars parked outside what looks like a mishmash of buildings. On entering the reception area is very neat and tidy. We stayed on 2 separate occasions at the hotel. Once in July on the night of our anniversary and the staff on learning of it gave us a complementary bottle of cava. It was such a nice gesture. We ate in the bar, opting for a Menu del dia type meal and was disappointed to say the least. But the cava was nice so we forgot about the poor meal. The double room was big. The bathroom very well appointed with a large shower cubicle you could invite friends into. Sadly the view from any and all windows was lacking. ( it overlooked a tractor maintenance place and a scrap yard. But hey ho. The A/C worked but no international news on the telly. Breakfast... We were offered eggs so we took some thinking they and the toast were included in the continental breakfast (4€). No croissants. No danish pastries and no yoghurt were available. Hubby took a coffee I had a glass of milk. We then got the bill for 13€ I queried this and was told by a very rude man in reception (the only rude member of staff we met) it was 4€ for a continental breakfast of toast and coffee nothing else. Toast and coffee don't even come close to a continental breakfast. Our second visit (because we couldn't cancel) we took a twin room. It was smaller than the double. Tv was smaller too. With a full bath and shower curtain. As you can imagine we didn't eat at the hotel. Instead we went to Carrefour (just down the road) and bought croissants there and ate them in the car. The restaurant in the hotel appears to be a simple annex to the bar. The food i cannot vouch for but if they take as much care in it as they did the menu del dia (most restaurants bread and butter so to speak) I can't see it being much better only pricier. But as I have said the bottle of cava was a nice touch.
