Casa Mariposa - Los Alcázares Bungalow

We were met at the property by the owners, Siobhan & Jay who gave us a tour of the house & explained where everything was & recommendations for restaurants& bars in the area. They were super helpful & checked up on us after a few days if all was ok. The property has everything that you’d need for a comfortable stay. Even supplied towels & comfy chairs for the pool/beach. Lovely table & chairs to sit out in the morning for breakfast & loved the roof terrace for dinner & drinks. The bed is really comfortable & loads of wardrobe space for clothes & suitcases. The pool area is a 2 minute walk from the house & was lovely. Great size, loads of shady areas to sit. We were there end of June when it was just before the peak season so generally quiet at night.

Exceptional property with the most fabulous hosts! Locations was perfect and easy to access everything! The villa was perfect and beautifully laid out. A great stay and some wonderful BBQ’s had! Thank you for having us! :)

Location was great, short walk to all facilities

Everything we needed was in the property. Everything! Great location. Great comms with owner. Arrived late to find a bottle of vino, milk, tea, coffee and water next to a lovely note welcoming us to Casa Mariposa. Super comfy bed. Great TV with all the channels (not that we watched much tbh). If you want to self cater you have all the pots, pans, utensils needed and a proper kitchen. We ate out a lot as the local restaurants are fantastic. Personal favourites were La Encarnacion and La Tropical but there are many to choose from. Superb roof terrace and furniture. Also available are beach towels and loungers if needed (saving valuable luggage space/weight). Under 10 minutes to the beach even if you walk very slowly. We spent a lot of time here as the area is absolutely beautiful. Loads of bars and cafes open even in November. Very friendly people and super chilled vibes. A few minutes in the other direction and you will find 2 great supermarkets. Fantastic ingredients available if you want to cook or just pick up some snacky tapas. Swimming pool is just across the road, 2 minutes at most. Very clean and welcoming area. It was just a bit cold to tempt us in but I am sure it would have been fine if I was brave enough to jump in (the sea was much warmer so we opted for that). The area is very quiet at night time as it is predominantly residential. We still played our music etc and enjoyed all the facilities at Casa Mariposa but we did tone it down a little earlier than we would have normally in respect of our neighbours. That being said, we were out late most nights sampling the amazing food and drink on offer so not a big deal. At the end of the week Paula (owner) agreed to let us extend our checkout to match our flight times. We really appreciated this as it allowed us to have a big night out and still enjoy most of our last day without rushing off first thing (Thank you Paula ).We absolutely loved our week at Casa Mariposa.

Perfect location being only a few minutes’ walk to bars, restaurants, beach, supermarkets etc. Quiet residential area. Well maintained pool only a few metres from the property.
