“A real gem of a place”

Rafa was, as others have said, an exceptional host, easy to talk to and helpful with ideas for excursions. It was very hot when we were there but the house stayed cool without aircon. The breakfast was nice - it was good not to have croissants, and it was carefully prepared. The house was very interesting, especially the old well used as a shower and a a gorgeous roof terrace. Overall, there was careful attention to guests' needs with lots of comfy chairs and a place to make tea or coffee. We didn't taste the craft beer on offer, unfortunately! There are two restaurants almost on the doorstep - both very good. Some very cool (in the old fashioned sense) places to park and some attractive villages to visit. A real treat.

“Large and very spacious room.”

The best

I liked the location of the hotel. The room is very spacious. Very attentive hotel owner/employee. There is a place to park your car for free close to the hotel. The breakfast is really good and it is served in good quantity, and it is prepared/served by the owner/employee ("pre-assembled" individually for the guests in the room, it is not self-service). If you want to repeat something you have to ask. The problem is that people may not always want to eat all the items that are served, on the other hand this avoids waste preparing a lot of food that may not be consumed. My suggestion: ask guests if they have any restrictions/preference with any of the items they will have for breakfast and if so, replace the item by another, or increase another portion, etc.

To be improved

There is a church close to the hotel that rings its bell loudly every 15 minutes, even in the early hours of the morning (normally churches do not ring the bell in the early hours of the morning). Furthermore, the programming of the church bell was faulty, because when it was "full-time", it would ring the chimes and after 5 minutes it would ring again. The hotel obviously has no responsibility for this, but my wife and I, who are very light sleepers, had great difficulty sleeping because of the noise.
