“Recommended if you want a genuine spanish holiday!”
It was easy to check-in and check out using the key safe. The building is very tastefully decorated and is right next to a beautiful church in a quiet location. The property is very charming and has a very large area. Lots of storage space and comfortable beds. The AC was essential to keep a comfortable temperature. There is a washing machine and a drier which were very useful to get all the laundry done before leaving (don't forget to pack some washing powder!). Unlike other people said, there is a toaster, a microwave and a Dulce Gusto coffee machine. We didn't have to drive more than 45 min anywhere.
The main setback I would say is there is no freezer. Even a freezer drawer would be helpful to keep a cool box for our food bag to take a picnic to the beach or to keep some ice creams since it was very hot during our stay (there was a heat wave so it went to 45 degrees). It's on a first floor with no lift. The stairs can be an hassle with little kids and luggage but it's manageable. The shower drain wasn't great but it's to be expected in an old building. You will need to rent a car if you want to go to the beach or visit monuments. It's difficult to find parking. Even though it's free, we would often had to walk 10 min. We recommend taking a stroller if you have toddlers.
“Good enough”
The location was very good, the appartment is big and confortable.
The fridge was turned off so we had to wait a while to put our things inside. Plates and other kitchen supplies were not cleaned properly. Somehow the hot water only worked in the kitchen, in the shower the water was not cold but neither warm enough to shower with. We were going to a wedding and had no time to call the owner, maybe he could have solved the problems. It's a little uncomfortable that the only bathroom is in one of the rooms.
“Fantastic location, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean apartment highly recommended and will definitely return”
Rooms were large and airy, close to all amenities. Beautifully decorated and immaculately clean
Not really anything about the property just lack of parking but that’s everywhere in Monovar 😂
“A beautiful and large apartment in an old village house”
The hosts kindly let us check in early. The apartment was easy to find and the key was in a lock box. We could park temporarily by the front door to unload our luggage. There was free street parking nearby. The apartment was huge and tastefully decorated and furnished. The owners had used love and care to create a good atmosphere. The Internet was fast. The apartment was warm and comfortable. There was a supermarket a couple of minutes walk away. The village felt very Spanish and authentic. There was fabulous hiking in the nearby hills.
The kitchen was not well equipped (the fridge was too small, there was no microwave or toaster, and very little storage space). The church bells are right outside the apartment and rang loudly at 7am. But I personally didn't mind this. It is an old village house so it does not get much direct sunlight.
