“Beautiful, quiet place with excellent pool and leisure area but some alpine-style challenges”
Great views from the communal pool area and very tastefully restored accommodation, with modern facilities but a period feel. Would suit a small, self-sufficient group of family or friends who didn't mind not having any local facilities in the village. In sunny weather, the pool/sauna/ hot-tub area is very good indeed, and it's great to have steep walking access from here up, up and further up the hill to the edge of the Teide forests and the wider network of trails. The host is very helpful indeed and quick to respond to any queries or fix any temporary faults.
Narrow access road to the property is very, very steep, even for people used to driving on Alpine-gradient roads, meaning that it was safest to leave vehicle a few hundred metres below the property rather than risk further ascents of the 30+ degree slope. Some listings for the property, I recollect, imply local eating facility, but there is none: the nearest shops are way back down the hill, a few km and 20 minutes away. So no scope for e.g. chilling at a local cafe/bar, and you also need to make sure that you've got all relevant supplies with you.
“Exceptional”
Very comfortable and pleasant accommodation in a quiet and peaceful location. The apartment was very well equipped, spacious with two renovated bathrooms and kitchen. Most of all we appreciated the clean pool with a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. The landlord was very nice and accommodating. The location is great as a starting point for trips to the national park, but also to the beach. A truly magical place, we would gladly come back.
