The location was praised for its beautiful setting and visibility, making it an attractive place to stay.
There were mentions of attentive staff, but inconsistent service noted during peak times.
Despite some negatives, the overall experience was enjoyable and particularly appreciated for its unique charm.
Breakfast was generally appreciated, but not included in the room rate which could impact value.
The facilities were deemed insufficient given the price, but some historical appeal was noted.
The decor was described as terrible, and there were issues with bathroom maintenance.
“Very special indeed.”
The onsite manager Javier was wonderful. He contributed so much to our amazing stay there. He went out of his way to have our time there be special. In addition to his many contributions, He gave us a delightful tour of this old historic home. It was indeed a highlight of our month and a half trip in Italy, Spain and Morocco.
The only thing that was challenging for us was finding the place. Medinaceli is an old walled historic town. As with so many old towns in Europe, street signage is not easy as it is in North America. Google directions weren't either. Thank goodness we aren't shy about asking strangers to help us. That's a bit challenging as well given we don't speak any language but english, and in these out of the way places many don't speak much english. But somehow it gets worked through.

Beautiful hotel and lovely decorations with artifacts from around the world
“Beautiful building with potential, but doesn't live up to the expectations”
It is a beautiful, historic building with many interesting artifacts from the owner's travels around the world.
Wifi unavailable, no breakfast, no food whatsoever, and drinks were not allowed inside the hotel. Overall, it felt like a mausoleum and a prison, it was an oppressive atmosphere. The different living rooms, both upstairs and downstairs were kept dark and there was no one around. Very expensive for what it's offered.
“Interesting hotel, great location.”
No breakfast or dining facilies available at the hotel, it would have been good to know this in advance. The location was great and the hotel very interesting, historic and unique. Excellent restaurant in the village.
Lack of facilities, food drink, somewhere private to sit rather than the room, A bit difficult to find but friendly people in the village showed us.
