This is a beautiful place to stay in the centre of Jerez only 10 minutes from the main shopping street. The interior is stylish and attractive with many interesting touches. The lobby is in a class Spanish style that you would expect in a house in this part of the city.

To be improved

The apartment has a large romantic free standing bath, but not enough hot water to fill it. In fact there is not enough water for even a warm shower. The type of plumbing used for such a large apartment is not adequate enough for any reasonable washing apart from maybe washing a few cups. This did become an issue because we were in Jerez for 3 days and going out everyday to see the sight and take in the nightlife. The lack of hot water made our stay quite disappointing to the extent that we booked an extra night in a hotel so we could get a proper shower with hot water. I am not happy given such a bad review, because every other aspect of the apartment was lovely, however having enough hot water is important for personal hygiene as well as basic requirement for a guests stay.

“A stress filled visit to Jerez de la Frontera.”
The best

The location was okay if you arrive by taxi, but if you are driving a rental car it is a nightmare. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good, once the hot water heater was refueled. It is located in a maze of single lane one way streets, and Google seemed to frequently want us to go the wrong way on a one way street. Even with the host on the phone trying to guide us, it was nasty and he was frustrated. When we finally found it, we were on our own for parking. We were fortunate the first two nights to find parking a quarter mile away for about 3€ per night, but there was no room our last night at the nearest parking was a half mile away and cost 19€ for the night. We walked a lot and found many things to see and do within a mile of the apartment, but we will get a hotel on our next visit.

To be improved

I pretty much covered it above, but here are some suggestions. The description of the place, including the dismal chances of finding a place to park a rental car. A list of house rules would be nice. Do we strip the beds? What do we do with used towels? What is the check out protocol? We left before sunrise and the host was angry because we didn’t let him know we were gone. Put “notify host upon vacating the apartment” on the list. The place had no hot water when we arrived. Over the phone it was determined that a propane bottle was empty. I change bottles at home in the U.S., but Portuguese propane bottles were a puzzle to me. I’m sure the host was not happy to have to come over at 10PM to make it right, but, to his credit, he did.
