“Comfortable family-friendly apartment in a lovely non-touristy corner of Gran Canaria”
Location was brilliant. Perfectly located right between Agaete and Puerto de las Nieves with a 10 min walk to each! Nieves has plenty of places to eat by the sea and there are more in Agaete too. Agaete has a local and genuine feel if you're not interested in the tourism metropolis in the south of the island. It's about a 10-15min walk to the wonderful volcanic rock sea pools nearby. We traveled with our 8 month old baby and it was an excellent place to stay as a new family. Plenty to do locally that's walkable (and pram accessible) as we were without a car. The apartment complex is lovely. The pool area is fantastic and wasn't ever busy. The complex is also gated and we felt safe there. But the local area also felt safe too. The other residents were very friendly. Sara was a great host on arrival, meeting us later than planned after a delayed flight. We discovered that we needed legs for the high chair when arriving in the evening and she was quick to drop them off the following morning.
The only thing was that we had some issues with the washing machine not working at one point, which we think were due to a few power cuts one night caused by a storm one night. This couldn't be helped of course. Although when we messaged about the problem it took a few hours for a response, which we thought could have been a bit quicker. Fortunately, the washing machine got working again and we had no further issues! Contact in general was pretty good though. Particularly for arranging key collection and transfers to and from the airport.
“Only looks good”
Wifi was fast and reliable, seaview, pool, mountainview, grocery shop only 1min away, a lot of parking space
Not clean and worn down, had to fix the toilet flush since someone put a piece of soap in the water reservoir which blocked it, toilet button falls apart and easily falls into the bowl, no washing detergent or anything(also salt, oil, etc. left mine), shower is very weak and small, traffic from ferry early in the morning on the road in front of the windows is pretty loud so sleeping with open windows is even hard with earplugs, bed was so worn out, that I got intense pain in my back and had to take painkillers for four days. “Very good”
Very quiet within the building. Nicely located to move around and avoid busy mass tourism areas. Person who gave us the key was very friendly and helpful. Immediate proximity of the main road however creates some noise every time a ferry boat unload the cars and trucks.
