We arrived 15 mins after our confirmed arrival time of 4pm to find the place still being cleaned and the cleaner asked if I had a reservation, no idea that we were meant to be checking in. All very confused (using Google translate) as we spoke no Spanish and she no English. After being cleaned the place was still a bit dirty with cobwebs inside and out. Very old furniture in the living room. Dog poo in the garden which the cleaner said she was not responsible for removing, although she did pick it up in the end. Fridge dirty (cleaner blamed previous occupants). No cupboard space in kitchen for dry food items, one tea towel provided for a weeks stay. No kettle. No oven. Very small prep area for cooking. BBQ a mess so didn't use it. In the end we did enjoy our week staying close to Potes as it's a great town, but really feel the house needs a bit of attention. It also needs extra screening in addition to the rickety picket fence, as the property has no privacy and we constantly had other guests and staff cutting through our 'charming garden'. Overall I'm completely embarrassed about how much we paid to stay in the house as we would have had the same standard of experience if I had booked one of the cheaper apartments (just noticed lots of reviews are saying they are not clean either!). It is a sizeable complex so perhaps for maintenance and cleaning they need to employ more staff in busy periods.
