“An idyllic country escape.”
The best

Superb location near to a lovely village (El Colmenar) that has a great little shop and a couple of bar / restaurants. The quiet was exactly what we needed. The pool was a great size and was cleaned daily. The rooms are all very large and the kitchen and outdoor bbq were well appointed (small oven but that’s wasn’t an issue for us). The smell of jasmine and lemons as the breeze swept over the pool was intoxicating. It’s rural and a bit rustic, and that’s what we were looking for.

To be improved

No air con in the bedrooms, only the living area. Luckily, the thick walls means that it wasn’t a problem for the downstairs bedrooms and those are the two we used. There are fans in the rooms which was helpful on the hot days. If you need to go to a bigger supermarket to stock up, it’s worth doing that before driving there. The shop in the town, and the one in Gaucin are not that big. There are a few bits which could do with a repair/update but nothing that would stop us booking again.

“Wonderful Cortijo!”
The best

Loved the Cortijo, its surroundings and the host was very welcoming. The town was less than 10minutes by car and 20 minutes walking distance. The walk to the town is a beautiful walk, the restaurants are very good too, I totally recommend it walking in to town.
