Tasty breakfast with lots of local flavours. Freshly cooked eggs. Small meat selection. Kettle available if you bring your own tea bag (and some teas available in house). When no food was available on Sunday evening very friendly and helpful landlady directed us to nearby town with a lovely restaurant.

To be improved

Room was a bit small considering it was the upgraded larger room. Basin was outside en suite in the corner of the main part of the room. No evening meal in a Sunday.

“Lovely rural "hotel" in a beautiful little village with excellent food.”

Due to the weather, & the fact we were cycling, we hunkered down in Casa Rural Zigako Etxezuria for a couple of nights. It was perfect for this, being a class above a standard hotel. Whilst the dinner menu is limited, the food is sufficiently good that this is not an issue. And the wine was excellent. Lovely staff too. Highly recommended.

“Shower tiles dangerously slippery, being wall rather than floor tiles. Please get a non-slip mat”

Lovely quiet and convenient location on the old road to the Alta de Belate. Food drink staff and ambience are all excellent. It deserves more than a one night stay.

To be improved

The floor tiles adjacent to the shower tray are dangerously slippery. I am an agile fit cyclist a I managed to fall over, and I have never fallen in a shower before. There needs to be a non- slip mat at least. I suspect the row of tiles on the floor are wall rather than floor tiles. I also suspect that the problem was known to the management and other people have fallen over. This could be serious for an old or frail guest.

This is a truly lovely hotel. The location is tranquil, the garden beautiful, the decor of this old house in excellent taste and the hosts charming.
