The bed was squeaking and tad uncomfortable.

Unfortunately one of the bedrooms we couldn´t use at all. I stayed in there with the door open for an hour, and got such a bad headache because of a really bad smell coming from the dressing room that there was no way I could sleep in there. The first night I slept on the sofa. The next night I made up the sofa bed in the hall which was very uncomfy and slept on that for the next two nights. We shut the bedroom door and window to keep the smell from coming through the rest of the house - my first thought was that it was coming from some kind of toxic mould. The windows in both bedrooms and the back door open on an enclosed skylit space, so no fresh air can come in from the back of the house at all. This is obviously a problem that the owners know about as there were about 5 air fresheners and an essential oil diffuser throughout the house- not helpful for someone with chemical sensitivities! Apart from receiving the key - we never saw the owners again, not even to give the key back, so we just left it on the table and hoped for the best.
