The best
This property is brand new and therefore has very few reviews, so I feel compelled to write a thorough review for interested travelers. We are very discerning and generally stay at vacation rentals when we travel, so we have a strong basis for comparison. I can honestly say this is one of the very best properties we have ever stayed at! The location is a bit difficult to understand if you aren’t overly familiar with the area, but I assure you it’s phenomenal. The farmhouse is down a dirt road and you feel like you’re at the top of the world, surrounded by beautiful nature, complete privacy, and with gorgeous views for miles. Although its seclusion is one of the property’s best attributes, it is also very close to Zarautz, Getaria, and San Sebastián. We explore Zarautz and Getaria mostly, and we found both towns to be incredibly charming. The beaches are beautiful, the food is great, and they are much less touristy and crowded than San Sebastián. The drive is 20 minutes from the farmhouse, and it’s a very beautiful drive through the forest.
As for the area surrounding the farmhouse, it’s stunning. We did multiple hikes directly from the property, and the hiking we exceptionally beautiful. Plenty of tree cover for shade, streams, ruins, not crowded, and just beautiful foliage. Truly a gem for nature lovers and explorers.
The farmhouse itself is wonderfully designed and very comfortable. The bedrooms are all thoughtfully laid out and well appointed, and there isn’t a bad room for a large group. We were traveling as two families of four (both with young kids) and it was ideal. The space is stunning, the amenities are all top notch, the kitchen is well stocked, the movie projector in the living room is insanely awesome, and you can just tell that the owners care a lot about the home.
We had the opportunity to meet the owners in person, and they are truly lovely people. I can’t recommend the overly experience highly enough!
