“Superb”
Quiet and serene surroundings, historic building. Our room was in the annex which is in a modern but comfortable design. 20 minute walk to the miradores of Cudillero.
“Superb”
Amazing breakfast! Super nice staff and cozy garden areas.
“Beautiful place but horrible welcome and treatment by staff.”
The house exterior and interior decor and location to Cudillero town.
I don’t really write reviews but I felt I had to in this occasion. There was a modern adjacent apartment building that belongs to this property which took away from the ‘feel’ of the house and there was an ugly building across the street. There is a noisy campground visible from my balcony next door. The property asks for guests to be respectful of the noise but it was the maids that made the most noise yelling across the yard for toilet paper and dragging buckets and banging objects on the floor while cleaning well after 4pm. I asked the woman attending the afternoon shift if she had some ice I could have to soothe my fever and she asked if I was staying at the hotel and I thought to myself what an insulting question, I felt unwelcome and she begrudgingly fetched me the ice. I believe she was Latin American and wore glasses. The correct and polite question would have looked like this, What room are you staying in? I felt like I was being treated like a criminal. The owners never greeted us rather just looked at us without saying a word, not even a good afternoon. My first impression was not good. They were actually friendly before check out. I felt we were treated differently than other guests prob bec we didn’t fit the ‘rich type’ of clientele they r accustomed to having. It was not a relaxing stay at all, especially with the noise and dog barking day and night. One more thing, there was a guest smoking at 10pm and the smoke rose up and into my room. I will not be back nir will i recommend this to friends. There are too many better choices abounding nearby. Do your due diligence and ask questions before committing to reserve.
