“Shame on you”

The best

It is a shame, we booked directly at hotel website, and we choose because this hotel allows pets. On arrival, we travelled by car, the lady on duty immediately screamed that our dog was too big and the hotel won’t accept this. The lady was very rude and disrespectful. Their were no apologies or even a tip for another hotel in the area.

“Good”

The best

Lovely hotel in a wonderful restored convent. Lots of quiet spaces and good swimming pool.

To be improved

Aspects of spa (Turkish baths) unavailable. Wedding party took away from the relaxed atmosphere, a little unpleasant having to trawl through hordes of people at front door and empty bottles and glasses strewn around the place.

“Perfect place for a wellness stay”

Room was big and clean Bedroom was giant Facilities were very good The staff was very friendly and willing to hel The wellness area was fantastic.

To be improved

Several plugs were not working, among them the TV plug so we were not able to enjoy the living room of the Junior Suite watching the TV.

“Not romantic”

The best

To be honest I misjudged this hotel. First of all, I thought it was in the Ribera del Duero and though I think officially it is, in reality the surroundings are not the romantic wineries I was hoping for. The location of the hotel is also not too great. The hotel itself is also not really romantic, but quite business like. The dining room, for example, is not very cosy. Staff is correct but not really friendly. Yet, we had a good stay. The thermal bath is nice, the outside pool is big. The bed was comfortable, dinner was okay, breakfast nothing special but doable.

“Not the magical place it used to be”

The best

The spa circuit was nice, although extremely crowded . The front desk staff were fast and friendly and efficient. The breakfast was nice and the breakfast staff were good.

To be improved

There were no sunbeds available by the pool.. we had to lay on the grass which was wet and muddy, and there was no staff to help us. There was some insect (like a small fly?) biting us constantly and we were itchy for a week afterwards. The spa circuit was ok, although the swimming cap provided was too small, and on asking the attendant for a larger one, he just shrugged his shoulders and said to tear it open to make it fit (I’m bilingual so no - it wasn’t a communication problem). The bed in the room was extremely soft and we sank into the middle of the mattress, and the single pillow provided was paper-thin and useless - it was extremely uncomfortable and we hardly slept all night. They were hosting a wedding while we were there and with so many guests it was impossible to park, and the staff seemed stressed in general. For how much they charge per night, this standard is completely unacceptable. We stayed here once years ago and it was fantastic, so we were disappointed to see how it is now.

“We had a marvelous time. The spa is marvelous and the buffet breakfast is great.”

Really relaxed but elegant and beautiful. The rooms are quiet and lovely. The robes and slippers were so nice. The staff were very welcoming and excellent.
