“Viva Las Vegas”
We arrived late on a Saturday evening to a warm welcome and a very loud disco. Also an invitation for a cold platter and bottled water in the restaurant. Our nicely decorated room was conveniently near the restaurant and had a kettle and fridge. Top up supplies could be obtained in the small supermarkets outside. The room did not have a balcony but large wide opening windows that let the sun in and from where we could sit by and people watch as we faced the main square and side on to the sea. Breakfast was great and we could have a Bucks Fizz or a Bloody Mary. They had tables reserved for those like us that had mobility problems. We were full board but drinks including water was chargeable at lunch and dinner. Pool towels were available with a ten Euro deposit from reception but we found the heated pool cold. Noticed they even had a sunlounger reserved for those with a disability although my husband could not get on and off the lounger so had to hope a Balinese bed was available. There was two near the pool but under the trees which unfortunately were not cleaned. The four on the roof terrace were better but people left towels on these. At the pool bar the only decaf drinks served was a coffee so we had to return to our room if we wanted other decaf drinks such as coke or tea as you could only consume drinks bought at the bar. There is a lovely terrace overlooking the inner garden that we accessed from our floor on level one. It was worth a visit to the top floor to look at both day and night views of the area. My husband could hire a mobility scooter from a stand outside for ten euros for two hours. Outside the hotel was fairly flat and accessible with plenty of seated areas to enjoy. We had an enjoyable stay and would return if the airport was less chaotic for us Brits.
“An ok hotel”
Me and my wife have just come home from spending 5 days at this hotel. Overall it was ok, the room was decent besides the curtains only closing half way which was annoying come fist light. The food was bang average, nothing stood out and it was more of the same stuff each day. I did have one bad experience with a meal which was when a chef was placing raw chicken on the grill using a set of tongs and proceeded to give me cooked chicken using the same pair of tongs. I quickly raised the issue with staff and as you’d imagine didn’t eat it as I didn’t want to get ill. The staff were friendly, approachable and helpful where required. I wouldn’t rate this a 4 star hotel, it is starting to look very outdated inside and outside, but nonetheless, not a bad stay for 5 days.
“A fabulous week.”
The hotel is ideally placed on the prom and beside a little square where there are bus stops so you can visit other places. There's also a road train to the animal park that pulls up regularly too. The hotel is very clean and the staff are so helpful and friendly. There are many bars and restaurants close by if you feel like a change from the hotel restaurant. On some days the food could have been warmer but it was plentiful with lots of choice. We upgraded to a premium room with a sea view when booking. We had a fridge and dressing gowns and slippers and our tea/coffee/milk was replenished every day. If you want sun on your balcony get a pool view room. The housekeeper kept our room and bathroom spotless. The garden area was lovely to sit in and to read with a nice drink from the bar and the pool area was also kept very clean. Being disabled I hired a disability scooter to get around. They are just outside the hotel door (and McDonalds is part of the same building.) €10 for two hours or you can hire them for the day. It's nice to sit out at the front of the hotel and people watch with an ice cream from across the path. I would definitely like to go back in the future. 5* service all round.
“First Stay at this Hotel”
Nice hotel but should be 3 star
“Room was cleaned every day but overall would not go back there disappointed.”
This definitely not a 4* hotel it very tired looking floor in restaurant is lifting in place's room where entertainment is located is in need of update TUI should rethink it's rating .
“Lovely Hotel, great location”
The hotel is in a very good position, right on the seafront. Puerto de la Cruz is a lovely resort but only has a very small black sand beach. There is a really nice swimming pool complex on the seafront, but you have to pay to access it. There are plenty bars, eating places & shops & a bus stop just around the corner The hotel itself is very good value for a 3+*. We were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are spacious & clean, with a fridge & a tv with about 5 or 6 English channels. There was plenty of hanging room & there was adequate shelf storage. We stayed in room 430 which had no balcony. ( we knew when we booked) & it did not have any tea or coffee making facilities, again we knew this. The lack of balcony was fine for us actually as the weather wasn’t brilliant. As it was March, we can’t be sure if we’d have got much sun on it anyway. It overlooked side of the pool & Bali beds. It can be noisy if you open the windows as it was opposite the entertainment room & close to kitchens - staff were there early in the morning, but that didn’t really bother us The beds were comfy but my friend had to ask to change her mattress as it was sloping. They did this immediately & we were impressed at the efficiency. All the staff were lovely & helpful, a credit to the hotel. The bathroom had a bidet slotted into the corner, opposite the toilet & it was quite cramped. I actually got a black eye as I bumped into the edge of the sink unit. The shower was good & powerful. The towels were nice & fluffy & were changed frequently. The one bad thing I noticed was that there was mould on the ceiling over the bath The food was varied & plentiful but, as with most hotels, could have been a bit warmer. There was a microwave though. The dining room needs a bit of a refurb but was perfectly adequate & we always managed to get seated - sometimes difficult when there are 4 of you. Again, all the staff were pleasant & helpful. There was plenty of seating in the hotel foyer & conservatory ( seating there very run down though) which was lovely & relaxing. The entertainment was on for about 1 -1.5 hrs every evening & there were a couple of very good acts Al in all we had a lovely time although may not visit again as the transfer from the airport is well over an hour. Shame really as the hotel was much better than I expected
