Catalonia Plaza Mayor

It is hard to beat this hotel’s combination of very central location, nice rooms, and very helpful staff. The gentlemen at the front desk were very helpful during our check-in, and made excellent recommendations and reservation for our dinners. This hotel is definitely a good value.

Our recent stay at Catalonia Plaza Mayor did not go as planned. My wife had a medical emergency the morning of day 2. Hotel staff really stepped up to the occasion. They acted decisively in getting EMT to arrive quickly and my wife was taken to the hospital where she spent a week. As I left, hotel manager Marcos Gonzalez provided his personal cell phone number and asked me to keep him updated. He and I communicated through out my wife’s hospital stay and he expressed genuine concern plus did not hesitate to accommodate our every need, which included two extensions of our stay. Additionally, housekeeping was left an absolute mess in our room too disturbing to describe yet made our room immaculate. Any hotel can receive great reviews when all goes well but the truly exceptional rise to the occasion during crisis and that’s what this team did. I cannot thank Marcos and the staff enough for their outstanding service and I give Catalonia Plaza Mayor my highest recommendation.

Our stay at this hotel exceeded all of our expectations. We had reserved for february 14-february 17th to celebrate Valentine's Day weekend and my wife's birthday. We arrived on the 14th at 8am, way to early for the 3pm check-in. All we wanted to do was leave our luggage there while we went sightseeing and we'd check in later at 3pm. Instead, the staff checked us in early and, while we were sightseeing, they took our luggage to our room. When we arrived later in the afternoon they had complimentary Cava for us. On her birthday (I don't recall telling them it was her birthday) they sent us a cheesecake and Cava, on the house. Those touches were totally unexpected and made the stay very special. The accommodations themselves were great. If anything, the room was a bit small (a queen bed, a desk and side table and a lounge chair), but that's to be expected in City Central and it simply kept us outside and sightseeing alot more. When we return to Madrid, this will be our go-to place.

Very good hotel at the center Madrid. Stuff very helpful. Always try and give solutions. David gave us excellent choices for food,drink etc. All stuff amazing. Breakfast don’t miss it!!

Exellent! Near to the center, restaurants, subway. Very good brakfest. Very nice persons from reception. This hotel is perfect to have a good vacation and I highly recommanded. All were peefect. Thank you, Catalonia Plaza Mayor!
