“Beautiful location and property”

“The staff at the bar/restaurant were welcoming and made evenings watching the sunset exceptional!”
The view, food and in particular the service at the outdoor dining was exceptional.
Would have preferred a room facing the view. The distance into the heart of Ronda was farther than expected.
“The Smelliest Hotel Room I’ve Ever Stayed In”
I seldom write hotel reviews unless a stay is exceptionally good or very disappointing. Unfortunately, this hotel falls into the latter category. We stayed there for one night in late December 2025. The room itself was average in terms of hardware, and while the hotel lobby was grand with a nice view, the room was the smelliest I have ever stayed in. The toilet smelled so bad that I had to keep both the toilet door and the bathroom door closed. It honestly smelled like a public restroom. I’m not sure whether it was a cleaning issue or a ventilation problem, but it’s definitely something a four-star hotel must look into. P.S. I stayed in room 127, or something close to that — I don’t quite remember the last digit.
“Wonderful stay”
Lovely hotel with magnificent views. Get the room with a terrace. Very helpful staff and great location walkable to everything but away from the noise
“Awful smell in the room, lacking basic staff training, great location and the staff are very friendly”
3/5 We stayed at this hotel for our anniversary and booked a superior deluxe room with a view, though the view was mostly obscured by a tree. The room itself was lovely, but unfortunately, there was a strong smell of drains coming from the shower, which was quite unpleasant. We had also booked a massage for our stay a week in advance. However, we received a call the next day saying we’d missed our appointment, so I had to explain that the booking was actually for the following week, during our stay. When we arrived for the massage, there was another mix-up with the date, but thankfully, this was quickly resolved, and the massage itself was lovely. Dinner was a mixed experience. After being seated for around 20 minutes, we had to ask for drinks. Our starters were delicious, but one of the main courses — a medium-rare steak — arrived cold in the middle and was closer to blue than medium-rare. The staff handled it very well and kindly removed it from the bill. Overall, the hotel has great potential. The staff are friendly and eager to help, but it’s clear that there’s a lack of basic training in a few key areas. With better staff coordination and some attention to maintenance issues (like the unpleasant smell in the room) this could be a great place to stay
“Gorgeous Views, Great Service, and a Peaceful Location”
We switched to the Catalonia Reina Victoria Hotel at the last minute after being disappointed with our original accommodations, and we are so glad we did. The hotel’s scenic location is absolutely stunning, with gorgeous views we never got tired of. Despite being slightly outside the busiest part of town, we never found it too far from the New Bridge or the main tourist area—it was an easy walk, and the peaceful setting and incredible views made it more than worth it. In fact, it was nice to be just outside the fray. We had dinner at the hotel on our first night and both the food and service were excellent. The only drawback was the sound coming from a wedding in the event space—the music was so loud we felt like we were part of the celebration! A bit more soundproofing would make a big difference. Our terrace room was spotless and comfortable, and the best part: the A/C was actually on and working in October. Many hotels in Spain switch to heat in the fall, and had we known this one kept the A/C available, we would have booked it from the start. The only thing we didn’t love was the room layout, as the shower opens directly into the bedroom, which doesn’t offer much privacy. Next time, we’ll definitely upgrade to a junior suite with a view of the Tajo de Ronda gorge. The front desk staff were fantastic—especially Conchi, a wonderful young woman who went above and beyond to help us throughout our stay. She made everything easy and pleasant. Overall, we would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.
