There is absolutely nothing bad to say about the property

There were problems with this property even before we managed to get into it. I messaged the owners multiple times for the access code to get hold of the keys and they were not forthcoming and this was almost 10pm at night. This is where the problems began, first of all the Windows and Doors all have bars which does little to instill confidence in the safety of the property. Various different keys have to be used to access the different doors. The front door is impossible to open from the outside so we had to try and open the patio door off the bedroom then slide the door open. The room patio door has bars across that need to be opened then the door can be slid open. None of this was explained prior to our visit and no keys are labelled. On entry to the property there was an air of pungent aroma coming from both toilets as if they had not been cleaned for years. The ensuite rendered the bedroom unhabitable as the sickly foul smell hung in the air was unbearable. There were no air fresheners on display and not even any spray air fresheners available to use. On the first evening we decided to sit by the pool around the corner for 10 mins while we made a phone call. The outside gate to the property was locked but we had the patio door ajar to allow some air in but when I looked in my wallet which was inside the property in my shorts all my money had been stolen to the tune of 250 Euros. This was of great shock to myself but I was aware that the property had security cameras so I contacted the owners to see if they had footage of the incident. They told me they weren’t switched on which to me was ridiculous. As a result of the above I decided to sleep in the lounge on the sofa in order to ensure that no one could enter the property on a night time without my knowledge. The villa is not fit for purpose and the bars on the windows and doors only add to the unwelcoming nature of the property coupled with the repugnant smell does not lend itself to a good experience.

From the moment we arrived, red flags began to appear. The villa revealed its true age and neglect upon closer inspection - though it was difficult to tell that from the photos... The overpowering odor emanating from the bathroom was just unbearable and a stark reminder of its lack of cleanliness and upkeep. Moreover, the abundance of unmarked keys only added to the frustration of navigating through the property, causing unnecessary delays in accessing various doors. The kitchen was also a disappointment. Not only was the equipment in poor condition, but it was also unsanitary, evidenced by the discovery of old bread tucked away in a cupboard. Further exacerbating our discomfort was the malfunctioning door to my son's bedroom - it got stuck, and we couldn't open it. We stopped closing this door which left us feeling even more uncomfortable as it is impossible to do anything in the villa without making noise: creaking wardrobes added to the cacophony of issues... Additionally, the lack of privacy was striking. We could hear every single word from our neighbors, which made us feel like our personal space was constantly being invaded - not too mention the noise they were making until very late hours at night. However, the most distressing incident occurred when a significant amount of money mysteriously disappeared overnight. We left 150 euros on the table prepared to pay for the swimming pool heating - I also had another 80 euros in my bag on the sofa. Despite thorough searches, including scouring every nook and cranny of the villa, the missing money remained unaccounted for. The discovery of a broken lock on a window adjacent to where the money was left raised serious concerns about security and privacy. The rental agency responsible for the villa showed a disappointing lack of concern. Not only did they fail to apologize for the numerous issues we encountered, but they also seemed to downplay the seriousness of the situation with the lost money.
