Citadines Ramblas Barcelona

Quick and efficient checking in...room was ready for us. Staff seemed to be helpful and warm. The hotel is quiet (didn't mind the church bell going off all the time but, ok, some might find that irritating. ) Location is perfect for pedestrians like us. Construction out front is inconvenient...has evidently been going on for years. Room is clean and comfortable, well equipped, bathroom is spacious. We would happily stay there again

We spent 5 nights at this property and it was excellent. Our room was on the 9th floor and overlooked Ramblas but was still quiet. The location is fantastic. You are 2 mins walk away from La Boqueria - the market which is wonderful. Plaça Catalunya is only 5 mins walk which is the centre for metro, buses etc. Tourist information is also only a few doors down on Ramblas. There are many restaurants and bars around as well as many interesting shops. The kitchenette in the room offers everything you could need and there is a large supermarket on the other side of the road which is very convenient for drinks and snacks. This is also opportune if you want to take advantage of the rooftop area which is beautiful and has views across Barcelona. It is free to use and you can take drinks and snacks. We enjoyed a few relaxing afternoons there. We did not have breakfast at the property as there are ample cafes outside the property. We also liked the security at the property as there is someone on the door at all times. A big shout out to Tony on the front desk who made us feel so welcome as soon as we arrived. Tony could not be more helpful and offered advice on places to eat which were excellent. If every property had a Tony they would be very lucky. I would not hesitate to recommend this property and if I return to Barcelona I will definitely stay there

This hotel could easily pass as a 4 star hotel even though it’s a 3 star hotel. It’s centrally located, so for first timers in Barcelona like us it’s perfect. La Boqueria market is an honest 2 minute walk, the central square Plaça Catalunya is a 5 minute walk where you can find busses and subway stations that take you to all four corners of the city. The street the hotel is on, La Rambla, is full of just about anything you need, there’s a big Carrefour market across the street from the hotel. There’s cabs going up and down the street nonstop so easy to find one. Behind the hotel is the gothic quarter and it’s less than a ten minute walk to the Barcelona cathedral. The reception staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We checked in easily, we asked to be in a quieter part of the hotel and they obliged, we were alone on the eighth floor so we heard no noise from other guests and no street noise so we got a good nights sleep every night. The hotel itself is very well kept. The rooms are very nice, there was plenty of space for the two of us but we met families staying there too so my guess is that their rooms were fine too. The kitchen is a nice addition, you get a stove, microwave, dishwasher, forks and knives, kettle and mugs, glasses and plates although we only used it for making coffee in the morning. The bathroom was fully equipped as was the room itself, iron, ironing board plenty of closet space. There’s a security guard in the evenings and you can get in by either ringing the front desk or with your room key, which is nice. The breakfast we didn’t do, there’s plenty of restaurants around you in a 5 minute radius that you don’t need the hotel breakfast. We checked out at 11:00 am but our flight was at 10:00 pm and there’s a dedicated storage room for luggage which is also a great bonus. All in all an amazing experience and we will be definitely coming back here with out even thinking about it twice if we go to Barcelona again.

I had a terrible experience at this hotel. I accidentally left my wallet in the room and reported it to the reception on the same day. The receptionist was extremely rude and careless — when I asked for help, he simply said “it’s not my job” and told me there was no housekeeping until the next day. How can a hotel not have anyone available to check a room? When I asked if he could call or check, he refused and just turned his back on me. Later that same afternoon, my bank card from the wallet was used for fraudulent purchases totaling over €1,000, and cash. I tried calling and emailing the hotel several times, but no one ever replied. This is completely unacceptable — both the lack of service and the unprofessional attitude of the staff. DO NOT STAY HERE!
