“An apartment with a magnificent sea view”
The best

The best asset of the apartment is a balcony with a magnificent sea veiw. It makes you forget the flaws of the apartment. It has a private parking (though it seems to me that during the high season finding a free spot might be difficult). A pleasant 15-minute walk to the castle. A twenty-minute drive to a big commercial center with an excellent fruit and vegetable shop with marvelous prices. Excellent owners / stuff, who promptly dealt with any problem even on Sunday. The apartment has no built-in heating system, but portable electric heaters coped with the work rather well. The town of Peniscola is very nice.

To be improved

Single window glazing is really something terrible. For several days the wind was blowing rather hard and the windows produced a terrifying horror-movie sound. The building is far from being energy saving: in addition to single glazing there is a big hole under the entrance door, the walls are very thin. The thin walls also create a poblem of poor soundproofing. We were staying during a low season, the building was about 2/3 empty and still we had an honour of listening to the sex life of our neighbours all day round. I just wonder what happens in summer, when the building is fully occupied. Must be hilarious. And be sure that everybody will hear you!

Good location. Fairly basic, but all necessities. Friendly host.

To be improved

Hot water stopped working on first day. Host arrived to change gas bottle within 30 minutes. Second day hot water stopped working again. We reported it, but ended up having cold showers as we left. Think the geyser needs replacing...very rickety.
