“A very comfortable stop on the way to the ferry at Santander”

The best

The location was excellent for our needs - plenty of parking outside, very quiet, easy to get to the main road. We could have walked to several restaurants that our host kindly recommended but as it happens it rained so we stayed in and cooked instead. It was nice to have good sized mugs and nice crockery. And the fridge was a good size too. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. The breakfast offering (juice, milk, pastries) was a nice thought though we had enough food of our own. The late checkout time was very helpful.

To be improved

Although there was a coffee machine, we would have liked to have had an electric kettle as well and ended up boiling water for tea and the thermos in a saucepan. I understand that kettles are not typically Spanish, but our other rural accommodation did provide them and it really makes a difference if you want tea that doesn't taste of coffee. On access: we thought that if we'd been staying for longer than one night we'd have got very bored with the key code for the door and would find a traditional key preferable, but we might have got used to it.
